Shawbrook Bank , Really?

I tried to open an Easy Access Bonus Account Online, with my wife which was shown on MSE.

We filled in the form and had an email back saying it was received and Shawbrook Bank would be in touch within 5 days.

Nine days later I called them to ask what was happening? After giving the Application reference number and my details I was asked if the other applicant was with me. I said "no, she is working at the hospital through the day, not available during your opening hours".

So they wouldn't further the application until we were together on the call.

They had our full details on the form, it was me that was chasing them for an answer which was long overdue and they suddenly decided to tell me that they had to speak to her as well.

I have opened a complaint and I am waiting for the form to be sent on my email. I have been told that complaints take about 8 weeks to be addressed.

Do these people really care for customers and want to do business?

That's the maximum time set by legislation and ought not to be cited as a standard timeframe! The other significance of 8 weeks is that it's the time after which you can escalate to FOS if necessary….

I am not sure why you appear to be opening a joint account. Two individual ones would be better.
By the way this is in the ISA section of Savings and joint ISAs do not exist.
