Hi all.
Ive just received 2 texts in quick succession from M&S Bank giving me 2 different 6 digit security codes.
However I don't have any bank or credit card accounts with M&S.
Should I be concerned ?
I tried to ring them but because I don't have any account number I just keep going round in circles....
TIA

I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. It's possible that someone tried opening an account with them and accidentally gave them your mobile number. It's 1 digit different to theirs, or whatever. But yes, best to ignore it, especially if you don't currently bank with M&S.5

It could be something as simple as another customer miskeying their phone number when they registered it. If you are concerned, check your credit report to confirm there are no M&S accounts or M&S/HSBC searches on it.3

I agree it's most likely someone making an error when entering their phone number rather than a scam. You got two because they will have selected "resend" when the first did not arrive. Hopefully they have figured it out by now!0

MS bank closed accounts in Aug 2021, could be related to a credit card.Life in the slow lane0

I would contact them ASAP to ensure you have not been the victim of some sort of fraud (e.g.someone opening accounts in your name)topcat105 said:Hi all.

More seriously, I'd think someone realised their phone number error after two failed attempts but you could speak to the fraud line for peace of mind.1
