There are three links there about Mediation so it surprises me when people at your stage seem to forget about the '8 steps' advice and instead read the Mediation email like it matters. It's irrelevant to you.

Currently, because this is Smart Parking, you are twiddling your thumbs for several months, waiting for the only important things:

So, as I started updating this case, I thought I should carry on through the stages.

Had the mediation call the other day, like you said spent about 2/3 minutes on the phone. They came in with a reduced offer , I refused. They went and spoke to the claimant and came back with a further reduced amount to which I also chose to reject. Told me I would receive an email with further instructions.

The next day, I received a call from DCBL again offering the same reduced amount to which I replied I had already done the mediation call. He said this wasn’t mediation, this was a “Without Prejudice” call. to try and settle before court. It wasn’t long before the offer had come down three times and ended on £35 to settle the claim to which I refused.

So, next stage hopefully is discontinuance.

Don't assume, check online !

Form N271 is a Notice of Transfer of Proceedings issued by the County Court (often processed by the Civil National Business Centre, or CNBC). You receive it when a debt or money claim you are involved in has been transferred to a different local court.

In your case, you are currently at the end of the first half in the Northampton venue, the CNBC

The N271 transfers the case to the local court selected by you in your N180 document, for the start of the 2nd half

The end of that second half with your local civil court will happen in a few months time, so a way to go yet, at a completely different venue

Ah, I see. Thank you. I was just checking as I’m not at home for a few days. The wife just told me that there was an N271 delivered. The last phone call I had off DCBL was to tell me that a hearing date will be sent through. I thought this was it.

So, basically, I expect more letters now, but from my local court rather than Northampton?

That's correct, Northampton kick things off, but court cases are dealt with by the hundreds of courts, by judges , not a civil service office in Northampton

Good morning, I have received my Notice of Allocation to the Small Claims Track (Hearing) this morning. I have the date for which I need to provide my witness statement.

Do I now just set out my defence again in plain facts? Is there any statement that I need to add or include?

I’m trying to find something in the code of practice that gives an indication of how long they have to reply to an appeal, not sure if someone can help with that. Thank you
