Isolation switch

We've just purchased a property with a Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pump.

Just had a plumber in and he asked where the isolation valve / switch was.
Can anybody point me in the right direction of what I should be looking for.?

Usually the isolation switch is on the outside wall close the heat pump. It will be a rotary switch, often coloured yellow. If it has been omitted then you'll have to find which circuit breaker in your consumer unit disconnects the power.

@Netexporter thanks, I found this which was inside next to the Alpha battery. Would it be this or if not and if I can't find similar outside close to heat pump then I have to find which circuit breaker disconnects the power. Is that right?

That should have been properly labelled, but if it is next to the battery then odds are it is just for the battery, see where the wires go...
Hopefully the circuits in the consumer unit are better labelled...
