Declined credit card but have good credit score (now worried about mortgage)

I checked my credit score (on Experian and other sites including TransUnion) and downloaded my report and my score is in the 'very good' range and the report does not detail any missed payments or anything negative.
Can NatWest be seeing something that I can't see and how do I find out what they are seeing and fix it?
I am also now worried about my mortgage as my mortgage is with NatWest. Will they call in the whole of the rest of the mortgage as they no longer want to lend to me? Is this something they can do?
The "score" is unimportant - the thing to look at when checking the credit reports is that the information listed is correct.
Natwest can see their own internal risk metrics which neither you, me, Experian or anyone outside Natwest can see. One of the tools that Natwest use to inform their risk metrics appears to be the Experian data. Natwest will also assess your affordability as part of their risk metrics.
Natwest will not call in your mortgage unless you default on that. Even then, it won't be straight away.1 -
Look at a credit builder card1

So long as you keep meeting payments nothing to worry about. They would not, call it in. If you did a simple rate switch with them at the end of your current deal (if you have one), they would renew. As they require no income etc figures to renew.Quoise101 said:Hello,
I applied for a credit card with NatWest and was declined based on something negative on the credit check. NatWest could not tell me what this was but confirmed they use Experian to run the credit check.

I do not currently have any credit cards and my debts are my mortgage and small amount of student loan.

Could be as simple as given they have known debt & income figures. That you are not in their affordability range for a Credit Card.Life in the slow lane0 -
Natwest are notoriously picky with acceptance criteria, I banked with them for 5 years, spotless payment history it took 3 years before I was accepted.Quoise101 said:Hello,

If your mortgage is due for a renewal speak to so a broker or look around, loyalty counts for nothing, they are out to make money0 -
Not only will NatWest not "call in" the whole mortgage, but when your current fix ends, they will offer you a new fix WITHOUT EVEN CHECKING your credit record.
