Roof leak - repair from inside?

Many thanks all - I spoke to the surveyor we used when buying the house who was kind enough to take a bit of time to look back at his notes and discuss the issues we're having. He advised that the roof should be capable of routine repairs for years to come and we shouldn't think about replacing it. I had a local roofer come in to do a thorough investigation and quote for the necessary repairs - he said essentially the same thing that these issues can be repaired and the roof itself is in good condition.
It seems the water in the rear addition is coming through at the top of the pitched roof and dripping down along the wall and felt. This should be a simple repair with some leadwork.
The leak at the front is more serious and it looks like the valleys need replacing (we previously had someone seal them with bitumen tape but it appears this was only a temporary solution, or didn't work at all). This will require scaffolding to be put up and so will be more costly.
All in all we're looking at about £3,600 ex VAT. It's not nothing but it doesn't look like these issues can be resolved for less, and if we leave it too long the damage will be far greater. Fingers crossed we won't have record-breaking levels of rain testing our roof again next year…

The joys of home ownership :-)
Thanks for the update. Pleased you can put off the whole roof for a good while to come.
(Now you know what is required, get more than one quote for the repairs… :-) )
