ID mobile Bill Capping advice.

Looking to change from EE to cheaper provider but still use the EE signal .

I am currently paying £12 for unlimited texts / calls plus for 32gb .

My concern is when I went to sign up to the ID mobile and set the bill capping to zero get the warning

" By selecting £0 monthly cap some services will be unavailable, including:

Sending picture (MMS) messages, calling 070, 084, 087, 09 numbers, making calls and sending texts outside of the EU, text/call donations to charities."

It is the word " including " is this normal on all phones contracts ?

ID mobile runs on the Three network, not EE.

The blocking of those "extra" services is usual when you set a zero cap, any use of those extras would be in addition to your monthly plan allowance of calls/texts and would cost you extra.

Its just saying those are chargeable services on top of the £12, so if you have a £0 cap, you can't use those services. If you had say a £5 cap, you could use those up until the bill reached £5 then they would also be cut off.

Thanks , yes I understand that part but was wondering is it normal for these numbers / services to be charged on a " normal" contract ...

Have a look at Mozillion. They use the EE signal. They've got some really good SIM delas, they don't throttle the 5G speeds. I'm paying £7 per month for 100gb of data (paid upfront for two years). Been with them 3 months and so far they're brilliant. Roaming worked seamlessly as well

Ah was confused as you seemed to be questioning the wording of 'including'.

Yes its normal that the package only covers SMS messages (text only) and phone calls to normal landline and mobile numbers within the country. Id also include EU roaming for free which is a bonus.

Larger picture messages and roaming abroad (outside the EU) is chargeable.
The number prefixes are for premium rate numbers, often where the call recipient can receive money paid by your phone company, so of course not going to be covered.
  • just an update phoned EE who said the best they could do would be £11 for unlimited text and call - 20gb with EU roaming so after 12 years guess it is time for a change.

Will most likely go down the monthly spusu 20 exclusive PAYG sp the as I do not want to tied up for too long , there are cheaper providers but just a bit paranoid about any which do not use the EE as been with them so long.
