I tried to use it just now, as I had a declined card payment for a monthly subscription I have. Chat service failed. More digging led to me finding out they had major IT issues over the weekend, lots of transactions failing and cards being declined. Supposedly resolved now, but they're still catching up. ZERO notification from them, I had to find this out myself. Terrible service.

I haven't been able to use the chat service - ever. Not just a "down over the weekend" issue for me

Really? That's not good at all. I don't think I've ever needed to before, but I did this evening. Having found out about the IT issues after that attempt, I assumed it was perhaps linked to that.

Yes, it just says it's not available while they are working on improvements!!
Normally, I find that a company with no chat service has a presence on social media e.g. facebook, so I can message that way but Barclaycard seem to have no method of contact other than phone or write
