Tesco Misleading Customers?

Hi,
I have noticed something with Napolina tinned tomatoes in Tesco.
I have purchased single cans previously, so thought I would buy the x4 pack as they were on offer with a Clubcard.
However, after using one of the tins I noticed a difference in quality.
When checking the ingredients, each can in the x4 pack contains 70% tomatoes compared to the individual cans that contain 99%.
I believe this is deliberately misleading the customer as the cans in the 4 pack look identical to the individual cans.

Unless Tesco are creating the packaging for the four-pack, any misleading is surely being done by Napolina rather than Tesco?

You can't blame that on Tesco.1

What is tomato juice made from?1

Good point - the single can says "Tomatoes 99.9% (Chopped, Juice)" without breaking it down into separate percentages, so that could easily be 70% chopped and 29.9% juice like the multipack....Renfrewman said:What is tomato juice made from?3 -
Nothing to do with Tesco as they are not made by them.bluebottle11 said:Hi,I have noticed something with Napolina tinned tomatoes in Tesco.I have purchased single cans previously, so thought I would buy the x4 pack as they were on offer with a Clubcard. However, after using one of the tins I noticed a difference in quality. When checking the ingredients, each can in the x4 pack contains 70% tomatoes compared to the individual cans that contain 99%.I believe this is deliberately misleading the customer as the cans in the 4 pack look identical to the individual cans.

A ) Tomatoes 99.9% (chopped and juice)
B ) Tomatoes (70%), tomato juice.
Both have an identical nutrition profile, not even a tenth of a gram difference, so they will be identical. Any difference is in your head.
Bananas, I am fairly sure it is made from bananas, or possibly beef.Renfrewman said:What is tomato juice made from?

Maybe you need to go to SpecSavers instead of Tescos?bluebottle11 said:Hi,I have noticed something with Napolina tinned tomatoes in Tesco.I have purchased single cans previously, so thought I would buy the x4 pack as they were on offer with a Clubcard. However, after using one of the tins I noticed a difference in quality. When checking the ingredients, each can in the x4 pack contains 70% tomatoes compared to the individual cans that contain 99%.I believe this is deliberately misleading the customer as the cans in the 4 pack look identical to the individual cans.
The single tin says that tomatoes and juice make up 99% whereas the multipack says tomatoes make up 70% and is silent on how much the juice makes up. As the only other ingredient is citric acid it's going to be a tiny percentage.
The contents is identical its just you are comparing apples and pears0 -
You are probably right, though on Sainsburys website the ingredients for both individual cans and the 4 pack are the same, 99.9% (chopped and juice). Can't see ingredients listed on the Tesco site.0

So, in answer to your initial question: No.bluebottle11 said:You are probably right, though on Sainsburys website the ingredients for both individual cans and the 4 pack are the same, 99.9% (chopped and juice). Can't see ingredients listed on the Tesco site.0
