KFC pricing rip off

Recently purchased a family meal deal from KFC and wondered if anyone else had noticed the price differences.
To collect the meal was £23 but for delivery it was £30 + £4 delivery and service charge.
So when I asked what service I was receiving for the additional £7 I was fobbed off with some ridiculous reply which didn’t answer my question.
Anyone else noticed this rip off ?

It's mainly pensioner types who comment here so not sure if they will have much experience of KFC.0

If you don't want to pay the extra, just go to KFC yourself... It's probably a convenience charge.2 -
Not a rip-off, just expensive.Have a read of this to see if it helps explain why ordering food for delivery is definitely not moneysaving.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

Lots of chains charge more for delivered meals. Dominos have offered collection-only deals for as long as I remember, typically around half the menu price for pizzas.YorkshirePete said:... but for delivery it was £30 + £4 delivery and service charge. You're paying for the convenience.

£34 would buy you chicken and chips for a family of 4 probably four times over, if you were prepared to cook it yourself.N. Hampshire, he/him. The other thing KFC does is offer prices for a single bit of chicken that is less than half that of 2 bits of chicken. So savvy people order 2 single servings to get the savings. You expect somebody working on a zero hours contract for minimum wage to know how the management structure their pricing?YorkshirePete said:Recently purchased a family meal deal from KFC and wondered if anyone else had noticed the price differences. To collect the meal was £23 but for delivery it was £30 + £4 delivery and service charge. So when I asked what service I was receiving for the additional £7 I was fobbed off with some ridiculous reply which didn’t answer my question.Anyone else noticed this rip off ?3 -
You have to pay the 3rd party company you order from & the driver.. Or do you think that that was free?YorkshirePete said:Recently purchased a family meal deal from KFC and wondered if anyone else had noticed the price differences. To collect the meal was £23 but for delivery it was £30 + £4 delivery and service charge. So when I asked what service I was receiving for the additional £7 I was fobbed off with some ridiculous reply which didn’t answer my question.Anyone else noticed this rip off ?
TBH. Given the Gov are wanting people to be more healthy (Sugar tax on drinks) I think that they should also impose extra tax on drive throughs & home deliveries of fast foods. 👍Life in the slow lane3 -
but shouldn't that be built into the delivery and service charge as a transparent fee, rather than upping the price of the food and adding a delivery and service charge.born_again said:

ie in the OP's case the food should still be £23 but a £11 delivery and service charge0
