Hi for anyone that's still interested (!) I have received 1 letter from Park Direct since my last update. Today I received my first email - from a 'Debt Recovery Plus Ltd'. In case I wasn't sufficiently scared into paying, DRP have included this handy infographic below outlining the next steps…

I am just checking in that I am good to ignore this too? Do Debt Recovery Agencies have any teeth? 🤔

    TIA for any/all replies!

    Yep ignore.

This infographic is lying about victims just 'getting' a CCJ if they are sued:

    Absolutely shocking & misleading trash.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hopefully CMA will be investigating Debt Recovery companies at some point.

I know the thread has moved on a bit now, but why not SAR the DVLA rather than the PPC to ascertain when the enquiry was made?

When asking this question originally, the received wisdom was to wait until you have a court date and just before this court appearance, to send in your SAR to the PPC then, but not before..

Yours is a great question - not one that I feel sufficiently knowledgeable to answer myself tho! I wonder if any of the forum experts might like to give their two penneth worth on this? 🧐

I'd certainly be interested to hear.

And I have a follow-up question, what is the logic behind the advice not to SAR the PPC until the last minute?

There’s no harm in doing a request to the DVLA. It will confirm when your data was provided.

I think they are telling a load of porkies as usual for a PPC and their sham appeal halfwits:

    Technical questions

How long does it take to get responses to vehicle enquiries? You can expect to receive your responses between 30 minutes and 2 hours from the time we receive your enquiry

It doesn't matter where the delay happened if the NTK was too late it was too late, if they want to claim compensation for that they should try the DVLA or its agents not carry on regardless using it as an excuse.

As for proving evidence you were not the driver who do they think they are, they need to prove you were and they can't, they have no authority to demand the whereabouts or personal movements of anyone, this is just an invoice they claim is owed not an investigation by MI5.

If you submit a SAR to the PPC and they send all the data they hold on you, you cannot then state, in the defence, that the claim is vague as you will have received the details.
