The social media platform Weare8 looks like it is struggling.
The trustpilot reviews have tanked and many people have been complaining about lack of pay outs.
I'm on the platform, and have a pending payout from November 2025.
I've tried to contact them for an update, but no reply.
It's a sizable sum of money for me.
Could anyone suggest any other recourse? What would be the consumer rights?
10.6 GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION.
These terms of use, their subject matter and their formation, are governed by laws of the State of New York. You and we both agree that the courts of New York will have exclusive jurisdiction.
9.3 We reserve the right to withhold any Payment and/or suspend your use of the WeAre8 App where you breach these terms of use.
So in reality for £50 it is not worth chasing. Given any action will have to be in US.Life in the slow lane0 -
How much over £50?Wallander2026 said:The amount owed is over £50.
Once again, any advice would be appreciated.
£52? write it off and forget about it.
£5,000? Give it a go but with the expectation that with the business seemingly in difficulty, you're going to get nothing.0 -
Note they have separate terms (and a UK company) for uk customers. But £50 still isn’t worth pursuing in court.born_again said:

I know that the numbers owed to subscribers may not be huge but there surely needs to be some sympathy here.
I joined them in their early days and initially thought this was a good idea.Earn a few pounds off your mobile bill and in turn earn a bit for charity. There was talk of 8 paid videos a day and at the time around 10 - 20p per video viewed.Over time the number of videos to watch has dropped significantly, most days none, even weeks. The amount paid has also dropped, 3 or 6p has become common.
I have now for the first time in probably 18 months requested a pay out. At the beginning of February requesting £40 ish pounds.
As has been said before. They say a turnaround time of a week.
Nothing paid yet and a response to my customer support query stated no timescale for payment. Just the volume of requests has led to delays.A quick check of Trustpilot reviews shows quite a number of unhappy users.
If there was ever an indication of an organisation in trouble then this is it. It’s days are numbered me thinks.

Of course people are sorry for the loss. Just, Sympathy & consumer rights do not go hand in hand. So sometimes like life, you just have to let go & chalk it up to a lost cause.
Or you end up throwing good money after bad. maybe they will come through in time, but it does not look good.
It would appear that the locomotive has left the station, leaving the gravy train behind 🤦♀️🤷♀️🤣

I requested a payout on the 21st Oct for £59 and am still waiting, honestly after the reading the trust pilot reviews I realised I shouldn’t have built it up and waited but it was essentially free money so have just written it off.
It’s a shame but nothing we can do.

Yes it certainly seems like the monies have been lost.
Sadly their website continues to operate and gives the impression that all is well with their business. They have always been extremely positive in their presentation - almost over the top - but that’s part of their ethos.
It would be nice to be able to warn / highlight to other users or potential new ones what the reality is of ever actually receiving any funds accumulated.
As things are the only way to find out is by realising there’s a problem and doing a web search and finding out about the issues that it seems have existed for quite some time.
