Better value / price than Saga?badger09 said:We have Worldwide annual cover with Nationwide Flexplus account. Mid/late 70s, each with multiple health conditions. Cancellation cover is £5k pp but we have ‘upgraded’ to £7.5k in the past and £10k for our next trip. Cover is also limited to 31 nights so we have to ‘upgrade’ that as well.We think it’s still good value.0 -
Nationwide charge extra for higher value holidays. You can get £7500 cover and £10000. I looked around because we had a £20000 holiday but no one seemed to go above 10Kfriolento said:I find the packaged account travel insurances are great for UK and European holidays and flights only, but of limited use for most of my longhaul trips because they only cover up to £5k.0 -
You'd have to get a quote from saga to see. Nationwide base price is £18 per month but you can add to that for covering existing conditions, over 31 days, over £5000 in value.friolento said:

Don't forget though, Nationwide covers all your family, worldwide (inc. USA and Carribbean which often cost extra) and also UK/EU BREAKDOWN cover for any car you own or drive.
You really need to check what works best for you as an individual.0 -
I had never compared it with Saga but have just done so.friolento said:

Nationwide is great for motorhomers travelling in UK and EU as well. It provides breakdown for up to 8 metre/7.5 tons for motorhomes in the EU as well as the UK.0

Its always worth comparing other packaged accounts. Different ones have different maximum ages and also different lists of existing conditions they will cover (sometimes with no additional charge)0

I downgraded my account to Flex Direct last year as we've stopped foreign travel now, and the medical conditions upgrade was at huge cost. Took out an annual UK and Islands travel Insurance policy with Avanti (not Aviva) and saved myself about £350, the other insurances with FP are ones I either don't require or have cover elsewhere.1

Hi would you mind telling me how much extra you had to pay when you declared the health conditions and cover for over 31 nights. Last year I got cover for 60 days with an outfit called gigasure but its now been dropped to 45, own apartment you see so normally stay there 60 or more several times a yearbadger09 said:We have Worldwide annual cover with Nationwide Flexplus account. I've never paid that much for a holiday! My 3 month RTW did not cost that much!0
