Plasterer disputes

I recently has a plasterer come to sort out 2 walls in my living room, he knocked the old plaster off( also removed the metal casing strips that were covering the socket wires) he then did a bond coat which he smoothed and left it a week, when he came back he did a single coat of some sort of white joint filler, this was a mess so he came back a few days later and sanding the messy bits, friend who used to do plaster work has told me it needs taking off and skimming with a multifinish as the bonding coat is now showing through! The plasterer is asking me for payment of £657 but im being told I shouldn't pay him all of that and I just dont know what I should do

Talk to him about your concerns0

I have but hes said that's how he does it0

Ignoring what your friend said, are you happy with it? Will it still be noticeable once it's painted?0
-
No im not happy with it at all and im concerned that I as told the bonding coat could crumble in time0

Not sure what they"ve used there. Looks like Knauf Fill & Finish but should be Multifinish which is terracotta colour when first applied.
Doesn't appear to be a good plastering job so if not happy, I'd ask for it to be done again properly.

That's quite an unusual method, bonding and then a skim of joint filler. There must have been a lot of dust. The bonding patches you can see are probably the high spots. I guess he does it this way because he's not that good with multi finish, so using filler and sanding is easier for him. It's more of a DIYer's way of trying to get a smooth finish.0

This is what hes used, he seems to think its absolutely fine and ready for decorating, hes also expecting me to get rid of all the old plaster which I've now got to spend more money on

please tell me 657 pounds is for more walls than those pictured? We paid £400 for our large conservatory, that was 3 walls and the ceiling, and all painted white0

Just those walls0

My husband has said to pay him just for removing the old plaster and the bonding coat but I've no idea how to work that out so I really don't know what to do or to say to the man! But I dont want him back now he started on the 19th December and only finished it on Tuesday this week but it looks awful and im really not happy1
