Yes, that adaptor thing only needed for the router (Gen 2?) with no standard ethernet port(s). Think you must have the Gen 3.

Will try again tomorrow ….

Aw! Do you at least know that you can actually connect to all the wizzy space things and see the internet?

Yes, Starlink is all aligned and working - currently balanced on the table on the patio with cable through the window! 😂

And that was a week ago …. swapped it to 'bridge mode' and restarted everything and it seems to be working OK.

My issue with Starlink, although I appreciate for others it won’t be, is the seemingly high energy usage of their v3 router, 75-100W, which can add up to an extra £16 on your monthly energy bill if it runs at 100 watts per hour on a tariff of 23p pkwh. My Sky Q box which is satellite dependent runs at 20 watts for comparison. It all adds up.

Presumably that's the power needed to push the uplink data to the satellite, the Sky Q box is passive (receive only) so lesser power requirement.

Yes, with Starlink you're running a satellite ground station. Sending transmissions to orbit takes a bit more power than simply receiving them does!

Another question, sorry!
Many suggest turning off the wifi on the Starlink router when using a mesh system …
Why?0 -
That's general advice when using any mesh system, not specifically Starlink's.
Unless the router's Wi-fi is an integral part of the mesh (which in this case it isn't) then the usual advice is to disable it. It may (rarely) cause interference but the main reason is troubleshooting, if the router and mesh Wi-fi are both broadcasting the same SSID then it's difficult to isolate any problems on the network to specific hardware.
