I put in a UC complaint yesterday online not through the journal. I was asked for a phone number and email. I have not received any email from DWP to confirm the complaint or a text. Is this normal?
Have phoned the UC phone line and the person i spoke to says he cant see anything on the system.
does this mean the complaint has not gone through?

Via what method?
As it may go to a central team, which might take time to filter down.

I was advised by a friend to do it online gov complaints. The reason I did not do it through the journal is because UC don't respond to quirys.born_again said:Via what method?

If you need to make a complaint, it is best to do it through the official complaints route. As you say, journal messages are too often ignored.pope said:

Yes it's already done online. But still not received a acknowledgement of the complaint. Really don't know why wanted my email address I thought it was for confirmation purposesTheShape said:

It may be to confirm you are linked to the UC account in question. I don't believe they respond by email. The complaints manager may phone you, or may respond via your journal once they have investigated your complaint.pope said:

UC helpline does not have access to complaints records system. When you enter a complaint via Gov.uk, no immediate record is noted on UC claim.
Once a Complaints Resolution Manager has been assigned, they will make a note on UC claim that they are dealing with complaint. But it may be up to 10 working days before Complaints Resolution Manager is assigned and up to 5 working days further before they contact you.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.1
