I am getting OR to install FTTP for Vodafone next week at my home.
I have given Vodafone my mobile number which was passed to OR and have a SMS about time/date about installation.
I will not be at home on that day as have to work and workers are not permitted to have mobile devices on them.
Does anyone know how I can change my number to my partner's number who will be at home instead of me.
I tried VF last night but couldn't get them to understand what I needed and I don't think customers can contact OR directly.

Give your mobile to your wife for the day.
Far easier than trying to get Vodafone's lamitable CS to do anything.2 -
Put your mobile phone on divert to your partners mobile number for that date, or record an answer service messages on your mobile saying ‘please call this new number 07*********’ as your phone will presumably be switched off , OR get the means ring your partners number .
FWIW , it is VF that would need to provide OR the different contact number but as they are hard of understanding apparently that isn’t going to work and hopefully it isn’t illustrative of their general uselessness1 -
In reality you can contact OR directly occasionally but communications are supposed to flow via your telecoms company as OR is a B2B provider not B2CBoohoo said:I am getting OR to install FTTP for Vodafone next week at my home.

Just switching phones for the day may be easier unless you use your phone heavily during work0 -
Might be alright then....MyRealNameToo said:

A bit difficult to use it heavily if you read the bold bit in the OP, LOL.MyRealNameToo said:

Just swap phones unless either of you have naughty secrets.1 -
Nah, that's what the other mobile's for.Ayr_Rage said:

Thanks for all the replies.
Should of mentioned that I will be away for 5 days starting Monday so can't swap mobiles.
Not sure if OR will call.
As for SMS I don't know if they contact you before the or on installation date.
As for forwarding to another mobile don't know if call or SMS and we have landline number so that's 3 ways of contract.
Installation is between 8 and 12 am.0 -
It is easy enough to reschedule installation till you will be available and be in a position to be a 'decision maker' who has to agree about location of new instal.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0

I have rescheduled once before and the next available date is middle of February. I thought I might be able to amend contact details going through rescheduling but there is no option.Eldi_Dos said:It is easy enough to reschedule installation till you will be available and be in a position to be a 'decision maker' who has to agree about location of new instal.
Chatting to VF yesterday they said if I reschedule again they may not honour my new deal I got in December because it would be nearly 8 weeks since I accepted the deal or something along those lines.0
