I am looking to travel to Suvarnabhumi airport (from London or any UK airport) in February.
As I am not a frequent flyer and first trip to Thailand.
What tools is good to use when checking out flight prices etc? As I am looking to book direct with an airline and I have read that EVA, next is Thai and Ethiad, maybe Cathy?

Thai and Eva are the only two direct at the moment I believe.
I've never used either but friends who travel from the London area prefer EVA.
There are numerous other options with one stop, Emirates, Qatar, Etihad, Turkish would be some I would consider.
There is also Air India for the brave, Cathay means you go past Thailand and then fly SW again from HK and the KLM/Air France group.
I fly Emirates from Glasgow, A380 on both legs.
Edit : Google Flights is a good place to start.
If booking via a third party make sure you check ticket conditions, some of the cheapest are hand baggage only.

I'd never heard of Suvarnabhumi so looked it up out of curiosity and see that it's just the name of Bangkok's airport, so it would have been clearer to have just referred to travelling to Bangkok!2

Now Google how to pronounce it and you'll be scratching your head!eskbanker said:I'd never heard of Suvarnabhumi so looked it up out of curiosity and see that it's just the name of Bangkok's airport, so it would have been clearer to have just referred to travelling to Bangkok!

Will pour myself a dram of Bunnahabhain before contemplating that!Ayr_Rage said:

Not sure if you are being sarcastic, but Eskbanker has a point.20122013 said:eskbanker said:I'd never heard of Suvarnabhumi so looked it up out of curiosity and see that it's just the name ofBangkok's airport, so it would have been clearer to have just referred to travelling to Bangkok!

If I started a thread on here saying I was looking for flights to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, not many would likely know where I meant without looking it up.1 -
Eskbanker's post have always been very helpful to me, regardless of that, I was not being sarcastic. I added the image so others can see and not to book the wrong airport as I nearly did.la531983 said:

Are there any long haul flights to Don Muaeang any more? If there are, and any of them are from the UK, you shouldn't dismiss them out of hand, I took a flight to Chiang Mai from DMK in 2009 and I don't recall any issues getting to the airport from central Bangkok (it was actually trickier getting to BKK) and as it's a smaller airport it's easier to make your way around it.0
