    OP, we used to have a D&G policy and they are usually pretty good. As their policies are appliance specific you are probably covered for any fault. Check your docs. If you have to, just play dumb. How are you supposed to know what code F05 means ! Clearing the blockage might not be straightforward.
     Very true about it not being straightforward. Ours is very low down on the machine and when you unscrew it a fair bit of water is released. You need a large, very shallow tray to catch it all.

    Or a wet and dry vacuum.

    Ditto. My manual suggested a little bit of water so was under prepared for how much did come out, also I remember now that I had to loosen some screws to unscrew the cap.
