Aer Lingus are leaving Manchester airport from March

Aer Lingus are leaving Manchester airport from March. I am a solo parent travelling with 3 children I was due to fly direct to Orlando in April 30th but this is no cancelled and they have given me two options via email
- Refund
- Alternative flight

Does anyone know if I can ask to be booked on  direct to another airline?

Below is the legal right but it isn’t black and white so I want to know if I am able to demand this option.
“Although most airlines will book you onto another of their flights to the same destination, if an alternative airline is flying there significantly sooner or other suitable modes of transport are available then you may have the right to be booked onto that alternative transport instead”

I have booked everything separately my car hire, accommodation and disney tickets.

Im so worried and stressed any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Seems to me that a new thread isn't necessary when you've already posted on the existing thread about this, whose OP you appear to have copy/pasted?

As per the other thread, you can ask but with only a 4 hour time difference they may hold you to either a refund or their alternative flight.

Its easy to change your car hiŕe pickup time, and this wont have any impact on accommodation or Disney.

Flying via Dublin is a great alternative as you'll avoid the US immigration in Orlando, which can be a nightmare.

No need to replicate a thread just for that - within your user profile, you can set your notification preferences to be notified of "New replies on threads I've participated in", among many other options.

With the number of passengers involved be careful what you wish for if you choose to push for rebooking with an alternative airline, there won't be many seats available direct from Manchester and you may have to accept a change of date or initial US arrival airport.

For the benefit of others who might read....  did Aer Lingus rebook these for you as a re-route under 261 regulations, or did you take their refund and book Virgin yourself?
