Blocking voice mail from a single number

Hello,
I've had to block someone's numbers (landline and mobile) but continue to receive voice mails from them. Is it true I can't stop the voice mails for this one number unless I discontinue to accept voice mails from everyone?
i use voice mail to deter spam callers, so this isn't an option.
Thanks in advance.

Might be possible by using your phone settings (what phone are you using) or maybe at the carrier (what's your network)?
If these calls are in any way threatening or abusive then you should report them to the police.1 -
Thank you, it's an iPhone SE and I'm with O2 Giff Gaff, who say I can't block just voice mails for this one number.
No, not abusive etc just a difficult friend who is wearing me down with constant messages!0 -
Ah, just doing the checks around the techy bits of Reddit, they say you can't with an iPhone, any block would have to be made by the carrier (which you say they can't do).
On Android there seem to be a couple of, er, edgy apps that route specific numbers to a black hole but almost certainly a breach of your network's t&cs.1 -
Thank you very much for looking. I wondered if it was just me drawing a blank, but obviously not!
How frustrating.
Thanks again.0 -
I'd suggest if you don't want to speak to them (you're blocking their calls) or receive their voicemail messages, then you and the other person aren't friends.Tryingtoassist said:Thank you, it's an iPhone SE and I'm with O2 Giff Gaff, who say I can't block just voice mails for this one number.

If you no longer want to receive contact from this person they certainly are not a friend as Emmia says. Pick up the phone when they call and tell them to do one and to stop ringing.

If you have a second or third gen SE and use Visual Voicemail and Live Voicemail (you might need to change providers to one that supports this) then voicemail is handled on your phone. Blocked callers then don't show in Voicemail.Tryingtoassist said:Thank you, it's an iPhone SE and I'm with O2 Giff Gaff, who say I can't block just voice mails for this one number.

If you have the original SE from 2016 then it's too old for this.0
