My Netflix comes through Skydish. I could access the site on TV but all I got all night was the spinning thing. Nothing on BBC1 for a while. Does snow affect this? Others have reported the same. Heavy snow

Yes, sat comms can be muted by snow or heavy rain (and sunspot activity). Any snow sitting on the dish?0

Snow would effect the satellite signal for the live TV .castle96 said:My Netflix comes through Skydish. I could access the site on TV but all I got all night was the spinning thing. Nothing on BBC1 for a while. Does snow affect this? Others have reported the same. Heavy snow
Netflix comes through your internet provider to the Sky box so maybe be an issue with internet.
A bit late now but did/ have you tried on demand as that uses internet and if that was not working it would mean the internet was the issue.
It could of also been Netflix servers.1 -

You pay for Netflix through your Sky bill but Netflix can only be accessed through the internet. It absolutely cannot be accessed through your Sky dish.0 -

Others have reported the same. Heavy snowOn Sky+HD your on-demand stuff and recordings only works for 12hfs after it lost satellite signal and you haven't rebooted it since. It used to be no signal no nothing, end of discussion. Not sure about SkyQ in this department but presumably there's some similar thing in place, as Sky boxes generally refuse to do anything if they can't see a signal.0

There was a major Sky Q issue yesterday that apparently affected both satellite reception and use of apps.
I can't find a direct quote from Sky on their own website, but there is an 88 page thread (started yesterday) on Sky's community forum: https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Q/No-satelite-signal/td-p/5185796
Also a post by Sky Help Team on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SkyHelpUK/posts/pfbid02UEmP2ZBzwB42USMDs6rzyvAmYCUmeHCYxD8ts5jL9WsCqV1D3g4woVbKqm2kTvLnl/
The facebook post says:
So although Netflix comes via the internet, it looks like the loss of satellite reception and inability to use the Netflix app may have been connected.

We are aware of a technical issue that has impacted some Sky Q and Sky+ customers, causing a “no satellite signal” message to appear. This issue has now been fully resolved - impacted customers need to restart their devices to restore service.2 -
Found some more information directly from Sky
From https://www.sky.com/help/servicestatus/tv

If you click on "see more" it says:
"We are aware that some Sky Q and Sky HD customers may be seeing an on screen message indicating that there is "no satellite signal". This issue has now been fully resolved. If you are still impacted, please follow the steps below to restore service. Turn off all devices at the power for 30 seconds, then restart. For Sky Q customers (even if only mini boxes affected): Restart the main Sky Q box then individually restart any mini boxes. Please remember you must restart your main Sky Q box first to resolve the issue on your mini boxes."1 -
I had to reboot the Q box today due to a 'technical issue' with downloading the next episode of one of the FBI shows, it wouldn't even let me delete a watched episode. All fine on a reboot.
Edit: I try to use the TV's built in streaming apps rather than Sky's as the quality is much better.0
