Food and festivals at Lynmouth and Ilfracombe with lots of places to stay and Exmoor has tons of beautiful and unusual places to and explore.
    Lynmouth especially.
Wildlife safaris a good one as vans can't get in the little roads.
Ask again if you decide to go that way and I'll give suggestions.
Dunster also has lots of things to do and explore. It's on the way down.
It has a Fair in July and a show outside in August.
    Totally agree

We lived in mid Devon for years and it was a very scenic drive to Exmoor.  Parking in Dunster village can be tricky, we used to park in the castle car park and walk down to the village

Powderham Castle has some interesting events.  Details on their website.  Powderham is a few miles south of Exeter on the western side of the River Exe

Paisley Food and Drink festival 24/25 April.

Fort George, near Inverness, Celebration of the Centuries. 8/9 August.

This is a good thread. Useful for a lot of people. I might bump it back to the top now and again. Thanks.

Heartland music festival. Pitlochry, last weekend in June. Buses run there and back from local campsites.

If you are with Vodaphone, you can currently bag 10% off tickets for Reading and Leeds, Camp Bestival, Wilderness, Lattitude, and Download events if that helps (while stocks last)
