Best of luck to your DD today 😊. Eldest has been pretty indifferent about them till now, but yesterday he was definitely stressed. As long as it gives them what they want for their next step, all will be well.

Thanks @RhiBi I agree wholeheartedly but it is interesting experiencing it as a mum for the first time. We kept things as calm as possible yesterday but it’ll be a relief to have them over and done with today.

DD is also getting GCSE results today, our expectations are very low, due to learning needs. There is always resits whether this coming academic year or in the future.

Good luck to your eldest I hope they get the results needed for their course or that they can get a place on the original course.

good luck to all our GCSE'rs. One of my grandchildren is getting theirs today and I'm hoping that they get what they need for college too. They put in a bit of effort with revision as the exams loomed but generally had a laid back approach to school 🤷‍♀️

Eldest is on cloud nine as he got what he needed for his college course. They weren’t ‘high’ grades, especially compared to his cousin who got incredible results, but he exceeded what he’d been predicted so we’re very proud of him. My mum was in the worst state of us all this morning I think and has sent them both the same amount of money as a well done gift. I thought that was very sweet of her.

We had a bacon roll to celebrate (would’ve had one to commiserate if it had gone the other way) and a very chilled day otherwise. It’s actually cold here today. I am wearing woolen socks, cords and a jumper and still feel chilly.

It’s reached that point in the holiday where a blanket fort seems like the only sensible thing to have on the agenda.

well done to DS. My grandchild got what they needed too and slightly higher grades than they expected. They were very pleased. I sometimes think that the "average" kids who do their best are often overlooked by the media who always seem to interview the kid who got 87 A* grades.

I agree - eldest’s efforts grades have always been outstanding but unfortunately that’s not translated into academic achievement. Never mind, he’s going to become a famous actor and pay for us all to have a glamorous lifestyle 😂 🤣
