Morrisons Supermarket PCN
wornout2026
I have read the MSE unfair charges. Tried to understand the how to appeal steps. I got worn out trying.
I received a notice via snail mail that id like to dispute/appeal.
Today the bbelow arrived via text.
Questions if I may please.
How in earth did they get my mobile number to send a text?
Or is it a separate coincidental scam text from scammers as the actual PCN states 06/01/2026.
Further more it states 'your system'.
I have never heard of anyone ever having their licence revoked for not paying parking fines. Is that intended as a scare tactic?
The PCN notice states I was 15 mins over. I dont dispute this. I met a friend in the cafe, long chatty lunch and then did shopping. I have no proof of this as paid cash and don't bother keeping till receipts. The PCN states 'if you are a Morrisons customer with a valid receipt then please refer to our appeals charges process on the reverse of the PCN'
Thank you for your help.
>>>>Parking Charge Notice (PCN):Your system shows outstanding parking fines. Payment deadline: January 5, 2026. Late payment will incur additional penalties and interest. Your driver's license may be revoked, which will negatively impact your credit record. After reading this notice, please enter your vehicle registration number through the following link to check and pay the parking fine (free information inquiry).

Ignore text messages, probably a scam text, concentrate on the postal notice
Complain directly to Morrissons with proof of patronage, insisting on a cancellation, known as plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad3 -
Definitely do not respond to that text message, you are correct it's a scam text, licences don't get revoked for non payment of parking fines. The spelling error in "license" is another give away.
You should report it, forward the message to 7726 and focus on the postal notice as stated above.3 -
Morrisons are the best of the ‘big beast’ supermarkets at getting their customers’ parking charges cancelled. Go see the manager, take a copy of the PCN (they’ll need it for the reference number, your VRM etc), any copies of past receipts, particularly the one for the day in question. If you have a store loyalty membership, let them know your reference number. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

do you have a Morrisons loyalty card ?3

Text is coincidental. Received the exact same nonsense the other day.3

That's a very well known scam text with American spellings & terminology that surely nobody falls for?! I think it even says 'driver's license' instead of the UK: driving licence.
Anyway just get the retailer to cancel the invoice. This approach is made crystal clear Plan A in the MSE Guide which I helped write. The only issue we sometimes see is posters ignore that advice and fixate on looking for how to pointlessly 'appeal' instead.
Just get the retailer or retail park managing agents to cancel the pesky invoice. It'll be done & dusted within a day!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thats because you read about the stage 3 plan C appealing, instead of stage 1, plan A, Complainingwornout2026 said:Thank you everyone for the helpful advice that i shall certainly take. Apologies not reading the sticky. I read the POPLA one and was much confused 😕2 -
