Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope it's not too cold where you are.
Very cold here with another white frost, there was a little flurry of snow yesterday but it didn't last long thank goodness.
Plenty of sunshine but the temperature still didn't go above 1 degree.
I had a wander about Sainsbobs yesterday and used my points to get a spare quilt cover set for the front bedroom, only cost £5 after my points were used. Then on to Ikea to use a £10 voucher they sent (still not sure why) and got a couple of bargains there too - very pleased with my shopping trip.
I made two batches of soup in my new machine, most is in the freezer and it used a lot of the veggies from the veg box I got from Lidl last week - I'm really on this money saving thing!
Have a good trip Allie, stay warm.
Glad the little one had a great time dp1, she deserved all her treats.
I think I would be having a stern word with your OH's Dad Ruby.
Hope you enjoyed your family lunch Izzy.
Back to work for me today, I have my packed lunch all ready! I'll be wearing lots of layers today as the school will be freezing and I sit right by the front door.
Hugs to anyone in need. Take care. XX16 -

Also bought a top in another shop last week and want to get another one in a different colour. Will have a yellow sticker hunt in a certain food hall while there too.Nothing else going on here today.Kepp warm all and hugs to the poorlies xx17

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Bloomin 'eck how much colder is it going to get! Minus 4 outside and 10 deg downstairs before I put the heating on. Plus we finally got the snow last night. It only lasted long enough to give everywhere a good covering and I can see that glistening and frozen solid by the light of the moon. Fortunately I have nowhere to go but worry about my family having to drive in these conditions. My DF lives lower down nearer to town and she said no snow down there.
No fixed plans for today but there are always jobs waiting in the wings I could do with giving the freezers a good sort out as the messer upper has been at them, but doing that in a freezing cold garage doesn't sound very appealing. So that job can wait.
Have a good day if you can folks, with ((HUGS)) for all in need. Wrap up warm and take care if out in ice or snow. x
ps Dp1 it was good to hear all was going well with the birthday celebrations!

Came across this yesterday m4d radio. Apparently it's specifically for dementia patients as you specifically choose which era of music you want to listen to. It goes from music in the 40s up to 80s music. I've had a listen and think I'd listen to it if I wanted to specifically hear music from a certain decade anyway! Anyway I thought I'd put it out there if anyone is interested x16

Morning again - it's not quite as cold as forecasted yesterday, only 0 degrees so far!My loft has been giving out some weird banging noises recently. I was worried in case there was some kind of animal or bird stuck up there even though I knew there wasn't any access. The chap who first-footed me with jelly beans came yesterday morning to haul himself up into the loft. I had prepped with vinyl gloves, head torch and bin bag all ready for him. He declared the space free from any animals or birds except for bats. He also inspected the roof structure for holes or missing tiles - nothing. He said that the roof looked in really good nick apart from the odd bit of woodworm. Now I'm happy though baffled. After he'd gone I made a batch of Mary Berry's easy tomato soup. It was both easy and tasty so I'll make it again. I think that the sun-dried tomatoes made the difference. My garlic had begun to sprout so I didn't add as much as I'd like. I caught up with the GBBO New Year programme, a couple of Traitors and Dr Who from years ago.
Today I REALLY WILL finish off the financial stuff. There's a parcel out for delivery so I'll stay here apart from bringing in more logs from the barn - not bothy!
Hugs to our poorlies and sads. xx17 -
We had another fine powdering of snow - just enough to hide the ice underneath. The temperature rose enough yesterday to thaw the car then later a delivery van did the skaters waltz trying to turn on the drive so it must have dropped again.I need to clear the car and a bit of drive and the route to the garage before I go away. Bin will have to sit at the front of the house and ask neighbour to take it down the drive tomorrow - I don’t trust DF not to do it 🙄.He and DM have blood tests this morning so may have to take them before too.Popped the diesel heater on in the campervan yesterday and it was toasty so we’ll be fine and looking forward to a change of scenery.Glad the loft has been declared Ok Gers but I wonder what the noise is?
take care all especially those with snow and ice

Very cold but no snow
Need a few bits of shopping, been putting it off but must go today as I've nearly run out of fresh milk. I've got UHT milk as back up but prefer fresh.

No snow here - am on a call with an EE agent in Newcastle who has told me that it's snowing heavily there. I hope that all those who are nearby are OK and wrapped up well, or staying home.12
