We have had Virgin TV for several years and at the start managed to find local BBC news way down in the channel list.
A friend was on local ITV news but we can't get it. He was on Calendar which covers Lincolnshire but we can only get Yorkshire news!
Is there a secret channel list?   How do others watch their local news?
I have asked Virgin but they haven't replied.
Is it not meridian you're looking for on ch871?
Meridian is the region that covers the south, nowhere near where the OP lives.
I'm in Scotland, both those areas are in the south :)

Thanks all. I tried ITVx but that only shows a selection of stories, not the one I wanted.  Yes we are on cable.  I can't see how to get local news on ITVx.
Don't know how much effort you want to put into getting a local news clip but maybe find contact details of local news provider and ask if they'll let you have a copy?

    This.

Our company used to answer emails for ITV and we passed on plenty of specific requests, ITV were almost always obliging if they possible could.

Does Virgin TV Channel Guide: December 2025 Updates | Virgin Media O2 help at all?

159 seems a "Regional Variant" that might have ITV1 SD for the (at least VM perceived) correct region in any location?  I note the BBC Nations (London for England) are available universally in cable TV land.

This is partly one for the OP to ask both Virgin and ITV about... Ofcom might not take too kindly to the correct regional news type programmes not being available... and Virgin may be able to point the OP to where they can see the correct news in future (if too late for this event).

BBC policy on providing clips / programme copies was for the Contributor only IIRC so may be best to ask the friend for that?

ITV News Calendar : Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire ITV Calendar has multiple variants... just as BBC Look North has.

Luckilly a friend with an aerial recorded the clip so we have seen it.  It isn't on the TVX link,  still waiting for Virgin to get back on this.
