Long Johns?

I didn't know where to post this, so here goes. Back in the day, the oldies would wear thermal long johns, it was cold before we had climate change.
Back in the 80s when I delivered parcels, I would wear my running tights under my trousers, I was only in my late 20s then, so it must have been cold.
But now I am in my 60s, I feel cold, but it's not a bad winter. My running tights are ok, but a drawstring waist that needs fastening is not practical.

Are you guys wearing long johns under your trousers, with an elasticated waist?

Not a man, but I know "women's" tights are used by lots of men working outside in the winter.

I'd thoroughly recommend Snag tights, they are a very inclusive brand so I thought they may have size guides for men as I have seen males modelling tights, but it appears not, they are helpful on social media though.

Get yourself into lidl, they were the last two weeks middle aisle specials but they are still there - if you hunt.

I have the thermal tights - not so good, the thermal long johns - excellent, and the thermals tops - really good - Im of an an age where I dont want heavyset clothing . Thermal leggings are  - warm enough but look like poo  - fine for wearing in and around the house, but pull a pair of jeans on over the top if going to the shops

If you're after "long John's" may I introduce you to Uni Qlo heat tech leggings? They come in standard or ultra warm - I've got a couple of pairs of the standard for when it's very cold, and a lot of the tops in the same fabric.

    Standard

I think M&S have a similar heat gen range.

Not long john's but I discovered M&S thermal leggings via a charity shop and they were so good that I splashed out and bought new ones and tops. Heavenly warm and worth every penny.
Tops are smart enough to wear as a tee shirt if you're somewhere overheated indoors.

    They do mens thermals

I've been layering up to stand/sit about at the dog rescue - two layers of thermals and jeans on the bottom mean my legs can get through 8 hours of 7C and below weather as long as it's not windy. For wind, softshell (or waterproof) trousers.

I've got a set of these that I picked up for a bargain price on eBay a little while ago:
Great as a base layer for anything that involves standing around outside in frosty weather.
