Tried to sign up for Vodafone broadband - a bad experience!

I was hoping to sign up to a Vodafone broadband deal that seemed pretty competitive. However the sign-up process was awful. I think the problem was that I once had a MyVodafone account linked to a mobile number I no longer have. I ended up going round in circles and, despite several attempts at getting things sorted using their online chat, I failed to make any progress. It's not a great way to get new customers. Needless to say I gave up.

You'd think that the bit of the business that's designed to sign people up and actually take their money might be the bit where Vodafone might concentrate some resource?
Believe me, the bit that you try and get a response out of when your broadband is boaked is far worse.
Others will now respond that their experience with Vodafone has been flawless. I'm very happy for them.1 -
It has been (I even went back to them so they could have a second go), and I'm happy for me tooflaneurs_lobster said:Others will now respond that their experience with Vodafone has been flawless. I'm very happy for them.

I will be ditching Vodafone as soon as our contract is up. We have had no end of difficulties and their customer service is awful. I have the date marked in my diary when I can switch without penalty and I can’t wait.1

I had the same experience when trying to sign up with Sky, on line failed and phoning CS a couple of times I got poor English speaking people on another planet. Kept trying until I got a UK guy who told me it was because like you I had a previous account with £1.70 credit.
He then sorted things out and I'm now with Sky again.0 -
I tried to sign up to Vodafone BB twice and they screwed it up both times, a totally useless company, avoid at all costs.1
