Morning everyone DP1 happy birthday to the little one enjoy Aladdin I can’t believe she’s 7 wow where’s that time gone . It’s freezing cold here but no ice beautiful moon last night . I’ve got a wash load in it will go on the airer I’m not dodging in and out today it’s far to cold I need to go out and get some eggs but other than that I’m in the house soup making a think for my lunches next week I can’t make a lot because like others my freezers are stuffed if I take something out the other food just breaths a sigh of relief and has a little wriggle. It was busy in the charity shop yesterday all games are 50p and toys half price where they are going to put them all I don’t know. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Well that's a cold one today isn't it? But again, not raining so yay...Out today for lunch for a friends birthday, must wrap her gift and write the card...OH is hot cold, snotting and coughing so he's banished to the bedroom for now..I've been knitting another cowl and I got about a foot into it only to see last night I must have dropped a stitch because there was a hole, so it's all been unravelled and I have t start again....not best pleased with myself for that. It's black furry/fuzzy wool and rib knit so no chance of seeing where to fix it otherwise I would have...well, I suppose I might have been able ot see it if I had a searchlight and triple strength glasses
I'm having to do a minimum of two rows at a time to remember where the knits and purls are because you can't see those either ...maybe next time I'll use a diffferent wool
Other than that, nothing else, I made fajita stuff last night so there's that again for tonight . Outside I can hear the sound of cold car batteries not starting for neighbours so hopefully mine does!Ruby, your poor DH and FiL, must be so dispiriting for both...dp1, happy birthday to the little one, time does indeed fly when you're not watching, have a lovely day! Hope you can arrange something for your mum too. camelot, your yesterday sounds lovely, long may it continue today! Gers, glad Lionel had a good result from 111. They've been pretty good when I've had to use them before. Todays a day for a fire for sure...Allie, who chooses the country and the meal? I like watching the crazy Korean parents and the daughter cooking all the meals they try from absolute scratch, love the father too, he's so enthusiastic and the mother likes everythign when she puts it with kimchi..judging from their comments, no countries cuisine is so different really, everything is like something else..Fire! [iykyk...] SSue, sorry about your rubbish day and night, fingers crossed for better today...Take care all, definitely add the extra scarves, jumpers, wrist warmers and stuff today!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi14 -
Good morning from a very cold and frosty Mehefinland
The SAR wellycopters are very active this morning - I can hear one warming up its engines as I type this. Hope it's just a training/normal thing. - you never know! Usually if it' a 'shout' they are up and away very quickly, so on reflection I'm probably just assuming lol.
Had a clear out of a load of old padlocks and assorted keys yesterday - also some of the assorted plastic trophies accumulated over the years and looking way past their best. Mixed feelings on the latter as you might expect.
So, being on a roll, I spent the afternoon litter picking my little lane ( 1 big bag) , met the local farmer's widow who showed me a whole lot more of stuff dumped on the rough patch of ground by a field gate - black bags of soiled nappies amongst them!!! So she did a pick too - snowball effect. Finished off by going the other way down the road and around the football pitch to fill yet another bag!! ( Cans and plastic bottles mostly, with the odd crisp packet for good measure). I despair of people on occasions. It was getting very cold and starting to loose the light so I stopped, but I could see more in the distance. If it stays dry today I may have another go.
Had a late night as I watched 'Kinky boots' for the umpteenth time. Suffered a little this morning though, so everything is a bit behind. Gave the field a chance to warm up a bit lol.
Hugs and spoons as always. S Sue - I know what you mean - special hug for you and any others in the same boat!

Morning all. Sunny but frosty outside this morning.
We had a good time at the children's Panto yesterday. Only 3 actors but very lively and fun for the little ones.
We finished off the last bit of Christmas pudding when we got home but I still have a box of mince pies left.
Popping up into town for a paper in a while and then we'll have an early dinner as have to leave at 4.30pm to go to a Wassail about an hour's drive away in Biggleswade. We're going early as I know it will get crowded but it should be great fun and we'll know a lot of the people involved.
Hugs to all and keep warm today.12 -
Happy Birthday @DP1's little one - hard to believe that it's been seven years since we all held our breath for her and your DD. Special hugs @Ruby. I consider myself fortunate that my beloved DM never lost her cognitive function whilst the rest of her body started to fail. You're in an awful situation.Great work @mehefi. Hope you survived the cold food bank yesterday @Izzy. Another hug for @Nan's OH and one from a length away to @Taff's.I've cleared the DW, vacuumed out the woodburner, laid the fire, brought in loo rolls, sorted the bag for logs later and am on my second coffee.14

Good morning
Cold start here, frosty but no snow. I need to go out for some bread, and about 5 other items on the list. Hoping not to be seduced by any bargains, trying to be stern with myself this year.
Izzy, I loved your description of your freezer, I always say to OH "how can I take some thing out and not make any space".
Burgers for tea tonight, nice and easy.
Gers, I love listening to TonyB, although I listen on the sounds app.
SS, hope today is better, sending hugs to you and others feeling the same.
Have a good day all, take care.12 -
Morning all, it's another cold but bright day with snow predicted, maybe, possibly. Can't see it happening myself 🤷♀️
I did some sorting out of xmas stuff in the dining room yesterday and then went through my 'nans' cupboard ( store cupboard) but sadly had to throw away some ood stuff. The room had a dust and hoover afterwards so that one's done.
Today I have stripped the bed and the bedding is in the wm, I'll remake the bed later after it's aired, I have the window wide open in there. Later I'll start taking down the decorations and then have a clean around.
Hugs to all the poorly ones, the sad, lonely or the just fed up ones.
Take care if you have to go out and wrap up warm.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -
At the start of the year we each write 3 or 4 countries on a slip of paper and each month one is pulled out!...Allie, who chooses the country and the meal? I like watching the crazy Korean parents and the daughter cooking all the meals they try from absolute scratch, love the father too, he's so enthusiastic and the mother likes everythign when she puts it with kimchi..judging from their comments, no countries cuisine is so different really, everything is like something else..Fire! [iykyk...]Guess who does the research and the cooking - yep that’d be me! 🙄😂
Stayed tuned for the next one……..Bhutan 🤔

Morning all
Bitterly cold here but the sun is shining, I have a towel load in the wm which will be hung out after.
I had the most awful night I was still awake at 6.30 this morning 😩 so I feel really jaded today, we are going to take the decorations down and then have a rest.
Yesterday was lovely we all had a really nice day, I think it was the coffee in the tiramisu that kept me awake so I won’t be making that mistake again.
Thanks for the sympathy re FIL, my own dad also suffered from Lewy Body bless him, it’s a very hard thing to deal with, FIL does not have dementia though he just seems to feel OH has nothing else to do but run around after him 🙄 OH is far more patient than me, and it makes me realise how lucky we are with mum who is really no bother at all.
Happy Birthday to Little one xx
Have good days all and take care xx12
