Morning GERS and the lovelies to follow. By gum it's another nippy one but the snow that fell last night has disappeared this morning. With temp of minus 2 I don't know how that happened! We have a long sunny spell forecast for this morning which will be nice.
Day one of return to normal service this morning. After nearly 2 weeks of reclusiveness I am off out to do the SS with DS! Definitely nothing for the freezer is on the list, it's just a bit of a store cupboard re-stock and stuff for the fridge. It probably goes without saying that my new year resolve is to get freezer stocks down and initially be able to combine the contents of 2 freezers into one. Then get stocks of that one down drastically. One person does not need to hoard so much food. I know, I know, I say that every New Year!!
Other than that not much else is planned for the rest of the day. So an afternoon of sloth will probably follow. Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, getting better, sad or stressed. Take care in this weather xx

Checked weather forecast and temperature not going above zero all day today. Will strip and remake the bed later and then make some hobnobs so at least it will be warm in the kitchen for a while until I have to give in and put the heating on.Have a good day all x14

Morning, thanks Gers.
Cold again here, but dry. We had sunshine all day yesterday. So good to see the sun.
I'm another one with a freezer that's bursting at the seams - how does it happen? I've been running it down for ages!
We took most of the decs down yesterday, there's just the tree to do today. It looks so bare without them.
Nothing much on today.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
Cold this morning but thankfully no snow. I'm going up to DS1's today with DD and family to hand over the Christmas presents, bet we see some snow up there.
The weather was beautiful yesterday, washing nearly dried on the line with the lovely sunshine and I spent a happy hour or so in the garden clearing up fallen leaves and cutting things back - jobs I should have done in the autumn. Finished a rubbishy book I was reading, did some knitting and watched some TV and had a long phone catch up with an old friend, quite an enjoyable day.
Hope things improve for you and your OH Ruby.
Happy shopping TA!
Hugs to anyone in need.
Take care. XX

Still dark and cold so I'm lingering in bed a bit longer. Tony Blackburn is playing songs from 1966 which I'm really enjoying. No snow here though further north is really suffering. Before Christmas I had bought some dauphinoise potatoes which I then couldn't use so put it in the freezer. When I took it out on Thursday I then saw that the instructions said 'unsuitable for freezing'. However, apart from a slight change in texture it all tasted fine yesterday, and there's enough for today.Lionel (old crossword friend of DM) has had some recent medical problems so decided to phone 111 yesterday. I was initially worried as the service has been slow and laboured but, after a wait to be answered he then had an excellent experience. After all the long list of questions were done he's now having a nurse come out to him today to (hopefully) diagnose and offer treatment, probably stronger analgesics. He's mostly housebound so the visit is particularly appreciated. I'm impressed! When it works it works.I'm still chugging through trying to find certificates of interest. Some organisations only send paper documents with nothing online whilst one had all the accounts on one list. Cue my first resolution for years - keep some paper! I've got out of the habit of scanning everything. 😱 My cousin in Berlin popped up in a video call which distracted me yesterday.
There's a bag for the tip so I'll get out into the fresh air at some point. The woodburner needs cleared of ash before being relaid, I'll bring logs in and a friend is coming much later to investigate the banging noise in my loft. I think there's a trapped bird (or something) flayling around in the dark. It's a dat for wrapping up well, doing the chores and the then settling under the electric throw.I hope that everyone is doing well. Keep warm. Hugs all round.14 -
Cold and clear again here with that huge moon.Yesterday was busy - DF to the hospital, was amazed that our lane and the main road weren’t gritted - it’s a bus route so words have been sent to the Council! Managed to get DF in, scanned and out within 30 minutes so didn’t have to pay parking (£3.30 for an hour!) so I was pleased with that. The Persian chicken Fesenjan was lovely accompanied by Barbari flatbread, followed by lemon and lime pudding. I was tired after all that.Supposedly having ex neighbours popping in however DM seems to have developed a cough so might have to postpone that.Hope everyone enjoys their weekend, please take care in the snow and ice it is very slippery here.AA13

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Glad you were able to arrange assistance for Lionel x
A busy day helping DH at the school yesterday. They had listed lots of jobs that he hasn’t been able to get to - including moving heavy furniture from one building to another. We spent all afternoon there and he’ll go back today to finish a few bits off.Decs will come down today, so that’s a large chunk of my day sorted. Dinner will be chicken arrabiata and Parmesan dumplings.Sorry to hear of FILs issues @RedRuby1231 must be very distressing for all of you x
Have a good day all
