@Rosa_Damascena - I agree that the silicon moulds look unused, I suspect they were an unwanted gift or an overly optimistic purchase. I hadn't realised The Commitments was that foul mouthed so perhaps I shan't copy it after all. I do like the sound of your new coat, sounds stylish and warm too. Good luck with your library search.
@Floss - I do agree that Roddy Doyle's writing really shows you what life is like from the point of view of his characters and that's the thing that I find most attractive about his work. I do value being shown the world from someone else's perspective. I also have Persiana: Easy so hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
No charity shopping for me today as the morning was taken up with baking and housework and the afternoon with a long walk and then a birthday celebration for a friend.

That's true. I particularly liked his books about Paula, poor woman downtrodden by DV 😪. But his printed work was nowhere as near as sweary as Alan Parker's movie.
I had a chazzer win yesterday - managed to walk past one without entering! I am going to have a great big declutter this Easter weekend.

I popped my head round the door of my favourite bhf shop yesterday lunchtime and snapped up this little haul.
The Roald Dahl and the R.F. Delderfield were both £2 as well. I was especially glad to find the Mark Diacono Fruit book because it's been on my wanted list for a long time. The card is for a friend of mine who's celebrating a birthday this coming week.

I’ve been away on my hols so have just caught up with all your lovely bargains. I’m totally with you on the Fisher and Paykel dishwasher drawers @Goldfinches. We visited NZ a few years ago and I fell in love then ( I think it’s a NZ company.

I have a half ginger cat - head, tail, and spots, rest is white. The two cats we feed outside are related - mother cat is mostly ginger and her second kitten (ours was number one) looks like ours. We also have a black and white extra-large male cat (22 pounds) who sheds all over and a solid black 7-month old kitten. Every day I am sweeping up cat hair.

@Potternerd - I was intrigued by your reference to Fisher & Paykel so took a look: . Clearly a premium brand!! I am happy with my standard NEFF DW because I have mastered the art of loading it to full capacity.

Hello everyone - I’m back after a bit of a break from posting, and all is well. In between dashing around running errands today I called in to the lovely town of Woodstock. They only have three charity shops (one of which is books only) but I bought a really pretty burgundy floral Per Una v-neck lace-edged jersey top (£4) from the Red Cross. I then negotiated the awful Oxford traffic to Botley and the Rafiki Thabo charity shop, where I got a nice pair of Hotter sandals in a groovy dark blue/purple metallic colour (£5) which look unworn.

I love Woodstock, it is so chocolate box perfect and wonderful in the summer, I have fond memories of evenings picnicing at Blenheim! I also remember a small library but no chazzers…?
