Well I certainly have the kitchen space to do it! Will finally get to use my pasta maker 😁
I'm going to have a session with my Mum and niece and set up a production line. Little fingers come in handy!

Poppies - looks like 3 strategically placed nails north of the mid point will do the job:

Rosa, that's lovely - you could also use a few U-shaped wire pins to secure the lower stems too.
I have been donating rather than buying recently but have managed to acquire a North Ridge hooded down jacket for £6 (a bit grubby & flat but after a quick cool wash & a tumble with my dryer balls it looks fab!) and a Zara merino sweater for £4.

The weather was (finally!) too nice not to go out today… various finds:
Two jigsaws (one a Wasjig) for £3.50 each
An H&M black very sparkly top. BNWT, and only £5. bought with next Christmas in mind.
A Hobbs striped boat-neck top, £4.
A Sosandar roll-neck top; looks unworn - £6.
A brilliant beach coverup from Whistles. Navy blue with funky pineapples on it, pockets, and will elevate the holiday wardrobe. £9, pushing the boat out.
Two Alan Hollingshurt paperbacks (The Line of Beauty and The Stranger's Child) - I have (and have read and loved) copies already, but L of B is very tatty and the other I have in hardback, which I might get rid of. £1.50 each.
A cream metal hanging heart to go in the garden. I got one last year, so now I have two. Can't remember what it cost!
A nice selection of bits, I had a stressful day for various reasons, so it was nice to potter in the CS!

I've been rather recklessly spendthrift over the last couple of days but am so enjoying being out and about when its sunny that I'm going to put it down to the weather and never mind.
I stopped in at my favourite bhf shop yesterday and found two lovely cookbooks, £2 each, a New Yorker cartoon collection, £2, and dvds of Citizen Kane, £1.99, Snow White, £1.99, the Little Mermaid, £0.99 and an Eddie Izzard collection, £3.50, a bowling ball and skittles pin, £1, a good French make 3lb loaf tin, £3.99, a Burt Bacharach cd, £1.99 and a Motown collection which was £3.99. I also bought some lovely soft navy John Lewis cords for £8.50 which I'm currently wearing so you'll just have to imagine those.
I'm especially pleased about the vegan book as it has instructions for using agar agar to make things like creme caramel etc. so that will be helpful. The Jamie Oliver is built around the 18 ingredients most commonly bought in UK supermarkets and gives 7 recipes for each one the majority of which are veggie so that will be very useful too.
I found the bowling pin among various other membership and organisation pins on the jewellery display so I think someone must have had a big sort out and donate. I go bowling with friends once or twice a year so thought this would be fun to have for those outings.

I just looked in Rokit in Covent Garden. Saw this bag, but didn’t think it was worth £25.

Best stick to Southend. You know it makes sense 😉

I was prescribed a lumbar support at the last Display Screen Assessment & today a bit of wire & mesh (that looks like the sort of thing dad used to have in the car to help his aching back) has arrived. I'll give it a longer try but dropped into the charity shop I am most fond of, met the manageress arranging handbags & exchanged pleasantries & walked straight into a set of 4 cushion covers that look linen-ish, are vigorously coloured (black then near neon green, pink, & orange). Now, one colleague already has orange as her signature colour, so I'll just take it as a gift for her but I think no one will go near the electric pink willingly, which should make it wholly safe to leave at work. (Checking the zip, which is fine, I read the wash label "wash with similar colours". I don't have any. And this is a stimulating pink, not a Baker-Miller one - any lace would find itself ripped off & mauled.)
There was also a complete set of Mary Stewart, including Stormy Petrel (that I only have read as a library copy, couldn't even get a kindle version), so plan to step into that other world after work!9
