Make them less happy by saying that you need 1 of them to shift them to the dining table (polishing en route), another at the table cataloging on to a spreadsheet on their laptop and a third to carefully wrap up and put in labelled boxes or return to whatever shelves they came from (after having wiped down the shelves of course).

Think I might have waited for a warm summer day and dunnit all outside and let it air dry……probably would have got fed up and turned the pressure washer on it all tho!😉
Ooooh I see what you mean - quotes have gone all funny!!
Went to the 99p St Gemma's shop in Otley today. Picked up a Seasalt denim midi skirt for 99p, (original price was £65!). Haven't had a denim skirt for yonks…not since I decided I was too old for denim….(that lasted all of 5 mins!!). In the wash at the mo but really looking forward to wearing it…probably with burgundy boots, a burgundy sweater and a Puffa gilet in, (guess what…burgundy!!😄)
Stock pic of said skirt…

@Miró Love the denim skirt. Like you haven’t had one in years. Great length.

@DigForVictory - please do be careful you don't want to end up being today's cautionary tale on the News at Ten or worse the light relief item at the end. Nowadays you can be embarrassed on 5 continents before you've been given a bed on the ward which thought often makes me take the sensible way round things.
Your aunt sounds like she was a real find and thankyou for the theatrical costumier suggestion which had not hitherto occurred to me.
Re: your Denby, I was going to suggest either buying a secondhand table top dishwasher, using it to wash the collection and then selling it on again afterwards or just offering a cash in hand two or three day job to any teenage neighbours/friends you feel wouldn't be cackhanded.
@Miró - I could see the dress being very glamorous if we ever get any warmer weather and do think the colour is terrific. I hadn't realised that Jaeger ever did button front jeans which I prefer to zips because pulling the zipper tongue hurts my hands nowadays so I'll keep an eye out for those. As for Perfumegate I think you've done your best and you're not responsible for other people's actions when you've pointed out a problem more than once. You can't save everyone from the consequences of their own actions.
@Potternerd - I do like the C&B hamper tin thingy and the trainers remind me of these ones that Good Housekeeping raved about this week so you're obviously leading the style pack from the front. I also admired and coveted your carpet and the Emma Bridgewater tray so those have gone straight onto my list of wants. I'm very interested in how you're shortening the sleeves of the silver jacket so please do show us the end result.
@Floss - that makes two gold stars for Castel Gandolfo then, how nice and I hope they're very happy.
I haven't been shopping at all today but did make dinner in my new french apilco dish which I bought last Monday and it was lovely to use. I'm planning to batch cook and then freeze a lot of pasta using my new machine bought on the same trip later on this week and will wear a pair of fleece lined Craghopper trousers I bought sometime last year tomorrow as well.

@Miró I really like the New Look dress! There are lots of high street brands I would't buy new, but I see the odd thing in a CS and think it's worth a try. And sometimes it works out well. That dress is a lovely colour and I love pleats.
A few things today:
- for a friend's daughter who is a real bookworm: a book bag, and something called a book seat. It's a sort of cushion in a funky pattern that is shaped so you can lie and have your book propped up in front of you. Includes a pocket for your phone and magnifying glass!
- A pair of Fatface cord trousers. Wide-legged, navy blue and a snip at £4.99.
- A black Nike Pro zip-up jacket. Needs a wash (mud on the back!) but fits perfectly. £4.99.
- Oxfam were having a card sale so stocked up on plain cards, always very useful…

Here's the book seat:
Annoyingly you can't order online - I'd quite like one for myself!

To wash the whole Great Wall of China I have to move & unpack it all. Frankly, sealing the door & windows & flooding the room might be quicker, but I think the lads would be even more peeved with me, as they like the parquet too. Its the drying that's the awkward bit - it has to be dry enough to bundle in tissue …..
