Looks interesting and co-incidentally helped me familiarise my little niece with the scouse accent. I showed her clips of John Bishop previously as his was the most pronounced version I could think of.
I think I am going to have to put the brakes on my chazzer habit again though - she commented that I have a lot of stuff. She's right though, for one person, I do! So its time to find space for my excess books and say goodbye to some stuff I won't miss.

@goldfinches I'm well jealous of the Pyrex pie dish as my mum had the same one for family pies! Too big for me nowadays though.

Thanks everyone for your input re the perfume purchase. My worry is that my sense of smell is deffo wonky after a couple of bouts of Covid. Lost my sense of taste and smell then and still not returned properly. I have asked a couple of people what they think and it ranges from ewww to hmmmm so not much help! My plan at the moment is to call into a department store that has lots of smelly testers, (Barkers, Northallerton), and if they have a 'new' tester of that perfume that may help me decide if it really is old and 'gawn orft' or is it my olfactory senses that have 'gawn orft! Anyhoo, many thanks for your input…it helps! 😊

You could ask the store to squirt a bit on cardboard if you can get the chazza in a few hours to illustrate the problem?
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
@Miro, the problem is they've changed the formula of Opium and it doesnt smell the same as the original any more but it shouldn't smell off.

Well the hanger charity shop at Rochester airport is lovely. Bought a slipover and Zara sweater for DD - both £6. Would visit again 😊

Waving hello to everyone, it's been a frightful day here with non-stop rain so I've spent some time trying on my bargains from last Friday and the trip I took to Kidlington yesterday afternoon (which was dry thank heavens!).
First from Friday I'm keeping a pair of black jeans with a small amount of elastane in them which seem entirely unworn. They're by Tu which is Sainsbury's own brand and they feel nice and thick and the size 18 I picked up seems to be the same dimensions and fit as the M&S size 16 which is useful to know for the future. They cost £7.25. I also bought a copy of Marguerite Patten's Teatime Treats for £2.50 which has some nice looking recipes and again seems in pristine condition.
Then, yesterday afternoon I herded my friend around Kidlington charity shops which was a real effort, there are only four charity shops there but she needed the loo twice and had to stop for copious refreshments after the first two shops plus I had to do the majority of the searching for her. We did find her a new quilted winter coat in the Sobell House shop which was the first one we visited so that was a win and we also found her an insulated steel water bottle and a new hat but it was a lot of work for me. I'd envisaged a team hunt but felt more like I was towing a dead weight so I'll know and plan ahead if there is a next time.
Anyway I had some luck and found a navy cardigan from M&S, £3.50, some black Craghoppers trousers, £6, a full length grey knitted skirt, £7, and a pair of Rowlands trousers, £7, in a lovely windowpane check. I also snapped up an unusual size baking tray and a Mason Cash pie dish.
There are several more books, a couple of DVDs and a few accessories waiting to be sorted and photographed but the biscuits I baked earlier must be cool by now so I need to go and test them. I'll be back to list the rest tomorrow or Thursday.
Sleep well and mind the bugs don't bite, goldfinches.

@goldfinches - I bought a v similar min-muffin tray just recently. What are you planning to make in it? I was thinking baked (rather than fried) aracini.

Yay, my no spend January is over. I have visited a few CS over the past 2 days and initially couldn’t find anything. I think DH was hoping the spell had been broken! But today I found some dark denim Peacocks shorts for £3 and this lovely M and S huge tea cup/mug for my morning brew for £2. I try to stick to Cornishware when buying china but couldn’t resist this.
25 items donated and 7 sold on Vinted in January.
