Thank you! I've registered and am now wondering which 5 books I should upload? I should probably prioritise my thick vegetarian cookbooks.
This all kicked off after getting great results from my soup maker and then the Pressure King Pro. Strangely enough, I have also developed an interest in chasing down esoteric ingredients from Waitrose now - I enjoy my weekly trips there!
Back on topic - yesterday I popped into a chazzer I hadn't visited for ages. There wasn't much there on this occasion but the welcome I got from this particular volunteer was remarkable. @Wednesday2000 - I'd recommend you pop into Mencap Southend (opp Sainsburys) one Wednesday afternoon.

So much to read, so little time.8 -
I think I have only been in that Mencap shop a couple of times.
I’m in a hotel in Leicester Square at the moment. I was just wondering if there were any chazzers around here!7 -
@Wednesday2000 the nearest are probably Marylebone High Street but £££ !! X

@Rosa_Damascena - I rotate the books I have uploaded depending on how I want to cook for the next few days/weeks. And I recognise your esoteric ingredient habit and feel seen! Be warned, it can be very expensive once you reach the stage of buying things you can only obtain online. I bought a citrus box from Shrub as this month's culinary treat.

Oh yes, we were going to go to Rokit which is a vintage store, but I totally got sidetracked and forgot to go! I am going to Covent Garden in February and March so I will look there and look up the other one you mentioned in Marylebone.

Have bought from Rokit. A really mixed bag of fabulous finds and odd - mind you that was pre Covid and in my last relationship where money came in and flowed out and by the end I had given up! Prefer my new life!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!7 -
We have a vintage store near me….I went in once but had to come straight back out as the smell was revolting. The shop seemed quite proud of the pong tho as they had a notice in the window saying "Come on in and have a sniff" Ewwwww!
And on a similar topic….I bought an L K Bennett dress last week from the Martin House Hospice Shop, amethyst colour jersey with lovely detailed seaming, paid £20 for it cos I just loved the look of it, Got it home and OMG the smell of stale sweat, old deodorant/perfume and general grunge was sickening. Couldn't bring myself to try it on or even try to clean it. It's going back today!

Advice required please☹️
Today a Northallerton chazza had 3 sealed boxes of YSL Opium Eau de Parfum 30ml @ £30 each, (normally retails @ £60-70 at the cheapest.) I never normally purchase perfume or toiletries as I know it goes “off”after a while. I used to love this scent and after confirming with the SA that it was new….I bought one😢. After opening the box later and trying a squirt…..yep, that familiar sour, well past it’s use by date smell!!! If it was just a few squids I would just laugh it off but £30 seems a lot for something that is unusable. Should I take it back? I hate returning stuff….dunno wot to do? Why the heck don’t the oerfume houses put a use by date on these things instead of just ‘use within 24M? 24M from when??
