Correct restaurant name, incorrect location

Good morning all and happy new year!.
I hope we are all okay and had a lovely evening.
I hope we are all okay and had a lovely evening.
I purchased my mother a voucher for her favourite restaurant near her house about just a week ago (Christmas Eve) and give it to my mother for Christmas.
A couple days later my mum has pointed out that it’s the correct restaurant however the wrong location. I’ve gone onto google and there’s two restaurants with the exact same name. One is in Blackburn and the other is Sutton Coldfield. I don’t see any association / relation with each other. The websites are exact same except ones .com and the other is .co.uk, was nothing clear to me of the locations.
I emailed them straight away on Sunday to explain and apologise and no response at all.
I was just curious if I had any leg to stand on or if it’s my own fault and to take the loss as neither of drivers and it’s 3 hours away.
I made the purchase on my credit card if this makes any difference?.
corey.

No making the purchase on credit card is not going to help. Does not cover human error.
You are down to the goodwill of the restaurant to refund you.Life in the slow lane1 -

Could you sell it[Deleted User] said:Thought as much , thank you everyone , I’ll take the loss not trekking to other side of UK. Cost 3x as much to get there haha!1 -
Maybe there is some local organisation / charity / school who could use it as part of a raffle prize for fundraising?[Deleted User] said:Thought as much , thank you everyone , I’ll take the loss not trekking to other side of UK. Cost 3x as much to get there haha!5 -
Have you looked at the company details for each restaurant? Being so similar suggests either some connection or one trading on the reputation of the other.[Deleted User] said:there’s two restaurants with the exact same name. Surely you mean web addresses rather than websites?[Deleted User] said:there’s two restaurants with the exact same name. One is in Blackburn and the other is Sutton Coldfield. ...and they're similar but not exactly the same - thebutlersarms.com and butlersarms.co.uk.
With regard to the locations, the landing page of one is The Butlers Arms Blackburn and the other is The Butlers Arms Sutton Coldfield.
Also the area phone numbers are similar but different, one is 01254 (Blackburn) and the other is 0121 (Sutton Coldfield).
The Sunday between Christmas and New Year isn't a good time to email any office and expect a quick reply. Why not phone them (not email) during office hours next week and explain what happened?

OH - this is two totally separate pubs with totally different websites (not as the OP suggested the "websites are exactly the same").
I think this is wholly the OP's error and there is no reason why either company should offer any remedy. The OP may be very lucky and get something from goodwill, but that's the only possibility.0 -
I agree this is wholly the OP's error.
But they bought the voucher on 24 Dec and cancelled on 28 Dec (assuming they emailed the correct restaurant!).
Assuming the voucher was not for a specific date and has not been used, why are they not entitled to the same consumer right to cancel as anyone else under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013?
Why is that not a possibility?2
