Good morning, Happy New Year
Dry outside, and 4 degrees. Not the best of starts to the new year, I had a heated disagreement with OH yesterday afternoon and he's still sulking now. Its never a good day for me. Oh well, he'll get over it.
Maybe salmon tonight, with 5p veggies.
Have a good day all, whatever you're doing.15 -
Happy New Year everyone. Wishing you all good things for 2026 x15

Good morning everyone and a Happy New Year
Firstly, Snoozer I always read back on the posts I've missed the day before, usually while I'm eating my breakfast.
On Tuesday , I took little one to see a show in town, only 2 cast members and 2 puppets but it was funny and she loved it. We went for lunch and then spent the afternoon playing and then she stayed overnight - it was musical beds - she went to bed in her bed, but was in mine like a starfish when I went up, so I got in hers - yes, when I woke the next morning, she was in with me too!
DD made a picky lunch yesterday, which we had down with mam and dad. I'll go down this morning, then I have the day to myself. I plan to take down Christmas and sort the bits I haven't used to go to a charity shop, then start a new book, I expect I'll have a chat with DD in Germany at some point too.
I need a quiet couple of days as I'll be out all day Saturday as it is little ones birthday and we're taking her to see Aladdin at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle and for a birthday lunch, we're getting the train to save DD driving.
Then on Sunday she's having a party in a local village hall - with animals from a mobile zoo, snakes, guinea pigs, giant snails and the like, not lions, tigers and bears! Though it could be, she's so excited.
I'll wish you all a good day, must get dressed and go down the hill x20 -
Good morning and a Happy New Year from Mehefinland.
30+ people turned up for an ad hoc beach litter pick yesterday and cleared nearly 20bags plus a huge bit of fishing net ( took 6 people to move it!!). Considering we took 24 bags plus assorted other stuff off the beach on Boxing Day it shows just how much is out there. Lovely sunny day with next to no wind so it was a good effort all round.
Last night with good friends for a dinner party and to see in 2026. A lovely evening tinged with sadness as you would expect. It is getting easier with the passage of time, but 'big' events seem to trigger the emotions somewhat.
A lie in to 7.30am for me today - didn't make a jot of difference lol. the starving ( ie the horses) just gave me that 'what time do you call this 'look
Thing a snoozette may be required later.
Best wishes to all , may your 2026 be a good, or better one.
Hugs and spoons as always

Good Morning to you all!
Gers, so pleased your banking issues have been resolved, that kind of thing is so stressful!
I'm somewhat bewildered as I have had more sleep than normal, some keen celebrator decided that setting off fireworks at 5 am was a great way to greet the New Year, I got up went to the bathroom and then feeling cold went back to bed, and I actually fell asleep and didn't wake up until 8 am and now I feel most peculiar :D6t66
Today I am going to tidy round a bit and then go and visit my Mum in her care home this afternoon. Mum has been very confused over Christmas, I'm hoping things might improve once the whole holiday period is over, it's bad enough getting out of your own little routines when your just a slightly scatty older woman like me, but when you are 96 and have Alzheimer's it must be totally bewildering.17 -

Morning all
Happy new year to you all - let’s hope it’s a good one for us all xx
Very cold here but surprisingly no frost it was well in the minus figures last night, OH went to the pub for a pint around 6 ish and sat outside with the dogs he took his glasses off for about 10 minutes to look at his phone, he put them on the table when he went to put them back on they had frozen 😳
No washing will be done today as Jackie O used to say it was bad luck and that you would wash your luck away so I now follow that tradition.
im going to cook the pork for tomorrow and make the tiramisu and if I have time I will start to take the decorations down.
Have good days all and take care xx

Happy New Year everyone.
Hopefully starting as I mean to carry on by posting regularly, suspect I may fall by the wayside at times due to lack of anything interesting to report.
Last night was fairly quiet round here for fireworks, but there was a very loud bang at about 6.30 pm that made me jump up.
I've taken down the Christmas lights but left the tree up until tomorrow and then I'll venture into the loft. Looking forward to seeing the second series of the Night Manager tonight, it's been a long time coming.
So have a good day everyone, special thoughts to the lonely, sad or poorlies.
Take care x13 -
Good morning everyone, a Happy New Year and welcome to any newbies - I hope you'll keep popping in so we can get to know you better.
Where I am the first few days of this month are forecast to be dry and bright but very, very cold. Today's temperatures will feel like 0 deg, dipping down to minus figures by early evening.
The promised snow seems to have been put back a few days. I'm glad I made the effort to go to the shop yesterday rather than today. Not much bought - just milk, a TV guide, tomatoes and a half price Xmas pudding. Not that I eat it at Xmas but I will enjoy it later in the year.
Last night's fireworks were noisy but not too prolonged; apart from an occasional distant one they were over and done with by about 12.30. Having indulged in a glass or two to see in the NY I slept well, so much so that today's breakfast turned into brunch.
And not a healthy one at that! Two pains au chocolat, a slice of Stollen and (in a nod to healthy) some raspberries. Today I'm doing as little as possible, time enough for 'normal' to begin tomorrow.
Have a good day whatever you have planned and let's hope that 2026 will be kind to us all. XXBe kind to others and to yourself too.13
