Yes she has. I seem to remember innovate and some variation on Archibald as well4

I don’t know for sure of course, but it seems the thing that gets people banned is overreacting to trolls/ stroppy posters.artyboy said:
And the board is poorer for it... obviously we are not allowed to comment on the rationale of moderator PPR decisions, but I always found their posts to be very useful, if somewhat lengthy! Often I needed to sit down with a cup of tea before digesting one of themEnzo_L said:
Tagging Bowlhead99 as one of your "wonderful people" won't work Ambassador - he was banned ages ago.sausage_time said:Good to see some positive comments and acknowledgements, especially at this time. Happy New Year!

Either in public or with direct messages.
Also some posters are active in multiple forums, so a ban could be unconnected to savings/pensions forums.3 -
Why have some of these excellent posters been banned?2

Squabbles with vexatious posters particularly in PMs/DMs I'd imagine. Don't engage with them4

And use the Ignore feature to improve your signal to noise ratio6

Colsten / Daliah / Band7 is still posting regularly on here and other parts of the MSE forum under a very different username but I don’t want to blow her cover completely. There are definite clues if you know what to look out for. I’ve had the odd discussion with her in the past where neither of us have been willing to back down; she has strong opinions but also knows a lot about banking, savings and investments generally, and she is a frequent traveller so is very knowledgeable about e.g. using money abroad and transferring money to other countries and from abroad to the UK.
Thrugelmir / Hoenir is a great loss to these parts! He spoke from a great deal of experience with investments and was always keen to stress the amount of learning and time that it takes to make a lasting success of investing; i.e. there are no easy and fast routes to success that don’t involve gambling ones capital with a real risk of making a loss!
He had an abiding passion for Norse mythology which he would allude to from time to time, especially the ancient gods!
Also I would like to acknowledge the valuable contributions of IanManc who has been absent recently, in particular in areas where money and the law are concerned. I’m not sure there has been another poster quite as clued up as he is about all aspects where finances and legal matters are closely intertwined.9 -
There was a point when the board had several posters (in the money sections - probably other sections had similar) who would relentlessly try to antagonise regular contributors to provoke a response. Eventually, the victim would snap and post a snarky response, and the board admin would ban the victim. Sometimes the troll would get a ban, but they would pop up again with a new board name.tigerspill said:Why have some of these excellent posters been banned?
I think I am the only exception to the ban being overturned. Nowadays, I tend to use the ignore button to those. If I can't see what they say (and they cant see what I say) then there is less chance of a provoked reaction.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.12 -
@Alexland, I thank you for including me but my contributions are way more limited than the other great contributors listed on this threadAlexland said:Thinking back over the over my last 8 years here other significant contributors not already mentioned include the great @xylophone @cloud_dog @LHW99 @Bostonerimus1 (formerly @Bostonerimus) @TBC15 the less active these days @Prism and one of our most successful investors the self appointed MSE gold expert and totally banned @DiggerUK.
I'm sure we are still missing a few more wonderful long term regulars (particularly from the cash savings threads) so sorry if you haven't been mentioned yet.
Yes a loss to this place but it's nice to see they are still very active elsewhere.aroominyork said:I hadn't clocked that Thrugel/Hoenir had disappeared. But of course. He has. Shame.
Any commentary I may have made was probably as a result of others
