BWLegal collection letter

Hi everyone, i wanted to ask for some help with this please. I parked in a pay and display where parking with a disabled badge should be free, and received a ticket. I went to appeal and show my badge but it couldn’t find my PCN and I forgot about it over Christmas due to being a moron who can’t think about more than one thing at a time. I’ve now received a collection letter from BWLegal. The car parks contact details out you through to a pay or appeals page and I can’t contact anyone as the PCN can’t be appealed now and really don’t want to deal with a collection agency. Would anyone be able to give some advice please?
thank you

Obviously you will ignore that. Read post 4 of the NEWBIES thread. We don't need to see £170 threatograms. You will never pay this.

Hi there, thanks for the replies. I've tried looking for a complaint route but the car park it refers to just goes straight to the parking website where I'm unable to appeal as it says it's beyond the date.

I have finally found a contact email for the provider of the car park, would I just be able to ask if it's worth contacting them to say I would like to appeal or that a valid disabled badge was on display? It's currently with BW Legal and I've received a letter before court claim.

I have a similar letter for a ParkingEye letter and I've read their process is different, but I've also received a letter from Direct Collection Bailiffs from them. Would a complaint to the original car park work here too? It's not listed on the letter.

And does anyone have any experience with Horizon Parking? They've rejected all appeals and reinstated the ticket

Thanks again in advance for any help!

In both cases you MUST try a complaint to the landowner that you (or the passenger?) are disabled - Blue Badge proof attached - and you are being aggressively harassed which is a specific breach of the Equality Act for which the landowner is jointly and severally liable.

Tell them to call their dogs off or you'll sue. Do that for BOTH cases. Get angry!

Ok thank you, honestly leaving the house as a disabled person is horrendous enough and I stupidly shy away from these sort of conflicts so it causes a lot of problems. I really appreciate the support, I'm going to try a complaint, thank you

I'll do the same with Horizon parking for tesco, thank you

Is anyone else getting immediate rejections from the standard template?

I'm getting these kind of responses, so I'm guessing the next step would be POPLA?

"Is anyone else getting immediate rejections from the standard template?"

Errrr… everyone. Not sure why you would have expected it to work. That's not it.

Please edit your thread title to tell us at a glance which company's PCN you are left with (it's not BW Legal if it's at POPLA stage).
