You're doing really well in getting started! January usually drags on a bit, and the mistake I often make is going a bit mad trying to pay all my debts New Years Day, then realising I don't have any money to get me to February. You clearly have a little more sense than me!
I've got to get myself onto Vinted I think, I just can't seem to make myself!
I'm always in it. It's just the depth that varies.Immediate Problem: Overdraft: £752.59 * Paypal £671.07 * Creation £592.74 = £2,016.04Phase 1: Vanquis CC £4100.11 * Tesco CC £3996.60 * Capital One CC £3800 = £11,896.71Phase 2: Zopa Loan: £12,7550 -
Thanks all for stopping by - feels like I’m not just rambling on to myself 🤣
@Baldybear it really is so expensive. I just have 2 small elderly ponies that are pets. I lost my riding horse getting on for 10 years ago and can’t see myself ever being in a position to have another to ride. I’m very fortunate in that they are kept at a local farm for a token gesture rent and that the farmer makes all his own hay and has no interest in charging me over inflated prices (I’ve paid the same for over 10 years!) - he really is a gem.@bigbeff I’ve listed nearly 30 items ytd and about half of them have sold. Most are between £3-£7 so not mega bucks but enough to make it worthwhile and clearing out a load of clutter at the same time.@MissMoneyMishap I’m the same every year! It doesn’t help that OH gets paid a week early at Christmas which signifies the start of our financial month. Trying desperately hard to be good but I’m itching to send some of the Vinted money to the debts!1 -
Non-working day today, so time to get productive! I have a load of Vinted parcels to post so will get them on their way later. Also want you to make a start on the garage before the bad weather comes later.Sold something on eBay that I totally forgot I listed as buy it now about a year ago! Nice suprise and fortunately still have the item otherwise it’d be a mess! £14 coming my way when the buyer receives it 😊
Jobs for today……
1. Post Vinted / ebay
2. c25k run
3. strength class
4. clear garage
5. clothes to clothes bank

7. General tidy and hoover through.3 -
Morning,
Just a quick catch up before I dash out to feed ponies and get son to football.Thursday was a good productive day and all jobs were ticked off the list with the exception of clearing the garage - this was started but is very much going to be my project for January.
Friday was a working day. I feel my mood plummet the moment I step foot in the office. I need to start planning my escape as it is doing me no good. New manager is pretty much acting as though I don’t exist and has made numerous digs about my part time hours. It feels very isolating and not an environment in which I can thrive.
Yesterday was a lovely chilled out day spent pottering and watching the FA Cup (go Macclesfield!). Had a lovely walk with woof in the winter sunshine and did the food shop (slightly better than last week but still too high!)
Jobs for this week……
1. Continue with garage
2. Look at opening a junior isa for DS savings
3. List more on Vinted
4. Drop off uniform and forest school donations to school
5. Meal plan and stock take of freezer (it’s full!)
6. Sort out bedroom and wardrobe2 -

Thank you 😊Middle_Aged_Guy said:Good luck on your debt journey

So yesterday I took the plunge and submitted an application for a job I’d been eyeing up over the Christmas break. It’s more hours and therefore more £, a completely different field and can work from home 3 days per week so can still be around for DS and woof. Not sure I stand much chance, but nothing ventured nothing gained.
Today, I’ll continue with the garage and hopefully get more listed on Vinted. Weather looks to be warmer too so that’s a bonus!3 -
Morning,
A long day at work yesterday meant I wasn’t home until 7pm so feeling it a bit this morning.Decluttering of the garage is continuing with another couple of bags dropped for the charity shop and the car loaded up with a few more for today. The garage has become a dumping ground for all DS discarded and outgrown toys etc and for broken appliances and so on - won’t be making that mistake again - anything no longer needed will no straight away!Didn’t get chance to get anything else on Vinted, so that may now be another job for tomorrow.
January has been a long month so far and it’s getting to the point where I have more month than money left. Will plug the gap with my personal spend pot as haven’t really touched that this month. Really do need to get a handle on food shop spend as it is getting ridiculous!3 -
Good luck with jpb application, nothing ventured, nothing gained!

@bigbeff - keeping fingers crossed but not heard anything yet. I think the interviews are supposed to be middle of the week after next so not holding out much hope now. Have also applied for another one though. I’ll just keep dipping my toe - the right job for me must be out there.bigbeff said:Good luck with jpb application, nothing ventured, nothing gained!
Nothing much else to report - another couple of small Vinted sales (£7) and still need to figure out how to change my bank details on eBay so that I can withdraw money from there.
Will post my plan for the week either later or tomorrow as in a rush at the moment (yep I realise it’s only 5:30 am!!!!) DS has an early football match nearly an hour away and I’ve still got to sort the ponies and walk the dog!2
