Have been waiting for PIP tribunal well over a year. And now have a date for next week. I was awarded PIP in August 2023 to August 2026. I have this morning received a text from DWP
We have started your PIP review and will be sending you PIP review form.
How will the outcome of the tribunal affect me ?

Reading between the lines, you were awarded a successful PIP claim and its now due review.
What are you taking to tribunal? I would suggest that given the length of time, you should chase your tribunal because normally a new assessment overrides any previous assessments.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.

Yes was awarded successful pip award in 2023 11 points for care and 4 points for mobility. I was not happy about this so applied to the tribunal but it's taken so long to get a date for a hearing. My tribunal is next week.peteuk said:Reading between the lines, you were awarded a successful PIP claim and its now due review.

I have been looking at the award letter from PIP at the the time I was awarded. It says we can award you PIP from August 2023 to August 2026 but we will be in contact August 2025 to start review process.
I just don't understand what to do tribunal is next week and then the DWP have started the review process?0 -
Let the tribunal go ahead, they will probably backdate the pay until the date of the next decision if you win, if the review doesn’t give you a higher award again I would guess you would need to request another mandatory reconsideration and tribunal for that award.0

Ok. What if tribunal decide to extend my award period as well as this is something I have requested in the appeal. Will the review be cancelled by DWPitsthelittlethings said:Let the tribunal go ahead, they will probably backdate the pay until the date of the next decision if you win, if the review doesn’t give you a higher award again I would guess you would need to request another mandatory reconsideration and tribunal for that award.0 -
I’m afraid I don’t know about that.pope said:

Normally the tribunal is way before the review and so any change to the length of the award would automatically change the review date. Eg awarded Jan 23, tribunal Mar 24 extends the time to Jan 28 then thats what happens.pope said:.Ok. As DWP seem to be close to the review date and have sent a review form then I’m not sure what will happen. If the tribunal does extend this, then ask about the review. Common sense says it should cancel the review but this is the DWP, anything can happen.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.

Despite review dates DWP can review your case any time they like if they deem it necessary."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Fingers crossed if tribunal extends the duration. Then I will make them aware that DWP have started the review. I hope they understandpeteuk said:

If the review process has started then it is a new review that will make a new decision. The Tribunal can only revise the decision that you have gone to appeal about. The Tribunal are only looking at what you should have been awarded at that date.So if the Tribunal changes anything about the decision that you have appealed that change will only apply from the date of that decision up until the date of any newer decision. If you don't agree with the new decision then you will have ro appeal that new decision again.1
