Morning!
I think I missed joining you last year, or I didn't make it past Jan either likely... haha - I believe last time I had a sudden needed to tidy in a week for new kittens! Well the kittens are now cats and the decluttering for them to arrive has definitely been undone >.<
I'm going big 2026 in 2026!
I am going to be kind to myself though and that is across home - home studio and studio at my boyfriends.
I'm also trying to do a low spend / no spend year *fingers crossed*
1 - Jeans sold on V
2 - Childs dungarees sold on V
3 - Returned my sisters books that I read over Christmas.
Current tally -- 3/2026I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Yesterday I couldn't find a document that I desperately needed. Today found it easily but prompted me to go through the paperwork to thin it out. A pile ready to burn in the log burner.
Operation office to bedroom is full scale go. A friend was supposed to help yesterday but didn't so I have dismantled all furniture ready for sofa bed delivery day today. Hoping the delivery drivers take pity on me and take it upstairs.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x20 -
Mrs SD - no the office is not my ROD - it is the craft storage room.
Then there is really another ROD - the front bedroom which was meant to be a sitting room. I have new furniture in there ready for making into a sitting room/spare bedroom - sofa bed in there.
I got up later than usual after a disturbed night.
I heard the letterbox and thought it was the postman but someone had brought me the latest Salvationist/War Cry magazines.
I plan to pop out for yet more cash after giving the builder some for materials. Then I want to visit The Rang. - want a few bits - tray, tea & tea bag containers and a water jug......
J will come here after work to put out my bins and card/paper - will have to cover it up as rain forecast
Brought another lever arch file downstairs to go through/sort - getting to the end of them now but lots of paper folders to look at/dispose of.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Thanks for the warning, @dND - I hadn't thought of that. I am now sorting through the papers in my fireproof box, removing them from the plastic sleeves and consolidating them into A4 envelopes! xdND said:
Don't put the different sets of paperwork in plastic wallets or sleeves in the box. They melt at quite a low heat and while the paper might not burn you'll probably have a lump of plastic with your paperwork embedded within!Florenceem said:My friend has suggested getting a fireproof box for important documents - anyone got reccommendations - lots on the big river site to chose from.17 -
weenacyinamerica Thanks for that I will tell him when he texts me later today. He maybe able to raise some funds to get the kids there that are interested I know he will want to go.
I visited the British Library a few years ago on a field trip from Uni (I went there aged 58
)and I absolutely loved it and when Ben moved to London to teach I said he had to go and have a good look around
He did English Lit at Norwich for his degree, he agreed it was a facinating place to see, not only Henry 8th's prayer scroll, but also some of the Beatles lyrics to their songs written if I remember rightly on a scrap of cardboard I think from a torn cigaretts packet, and Jane Austins glasses such odd but interesting things to see
As I did History at Uni just looking at something King Henry had touched and used was brilliant .I am a real history nut and adore looking at anything historical. But if anyone has the time do go to the British Library its a facinating place I could spend a week in there and not see everything I think
Sadly now its so far away I'm unlikely to go again, but its so worth a visit.
Well still very damp and mizzly here, I've got a small wash on but I think its going to have to be tumbled as the forecast isn't great for the next 10 days.
Scrambled eggs were delicious my DD made them for me last night after a 24 hours of water only and I really enjoyed them. Tummy all fine now, just a 24 hour bug luckily DD and my son-in-law were ok. But I did isolate myself out of the way which helps
This month seems never ending doesn't it, but hopefully it will soon be spring and the sun will return and the grey skies will be gone. One of my friends has just gone off to Australia for three months so it will be late spring before she is home again
I've done a little bit of a declutter and found a pair of head phones that no longer are used as DD got me some ear buds, so they will go into the CS bag along with a couple of books and a bag of fridge magnets. Killer jigsaw is still ongoing
I just won't give up on it .
My DGD and my eldest DD are coming down for the day in a fortnight, and I know my DGD will have a go at it as she loves jigsaws and its one she put in my Christmas bag of gifts
I'll see what she thinks of it.
Keep warm and dry chums

Thursday is a dull day with a forecast high of 10°C (feeling 4° colder due to a gusting SE wind) low of 7°C Although drizzling in the early hours it is dry now but is forecast to rain for a couple of hours from 14:00. The forecast was correct - we have had a light shower & it is so dark that more rain will follow shortly. DH & DSis went shopping 13:50. The recycling wheelie bin was emptied this morning so it looks like everything is back to normal now. I have my 2nd cuppa & will get on with the cheerleading
TC77, sorry to hear that you aren’t sleeping well 😔 I liked This “Dizzycap think you mentioned putting a sheet over clutter reminded me my cousin put a throw over boxes in her living room but made a sofa shape. She cleared those boxes slowly and got a proper sofa ( they had one already) whixh they planned to have 2.” - such a great idea 😊
Excellent decluttering greent 👏 Maintaining weight is almost as good as losing weight ☺️
GrannyKate, hopefully DGS4’s love of growing things extends to helping you get ready for planting 🤞😉 Please remember to get some rest before becoming fulltime ‘mum’ for the next week 🙏 Good luck with the frogs 🍀
Welcome back aboard the EDT pixtotts, lovely to see you 👋😊 You do realise that once you mention cats (especially ones that sound mischievous 😏) that many of us need to see pictures 😅 I have made a note of your target & am looking forward to following your progress 😊 I especially wish you luck attaining your goal of a “low spend/no spend year” 🍀
Willowtree222, great job sorting out your paperwork 👏 Hopefully next time you need a document you will find it within 24 minutes rather than 24 hours 😊 Congratulations on This “Operation office to bedroom is full scale go. A friend was supposed to help yesterday but didn't so I have dismantled all furniture ready for sofa bed delivery day today.” 🥳 As to This “Hoping the delivery drivers take pity on me and take it upstairs.” remember just smile sweetly & pretend to be helpless 🙊
Florenceem, Sorry to hear that you had a “disturbed night” 😔 Hopefully you can find time today to rest a little 🙏 Apologies for forgetting about your craft storage room 😞 More excellent work clearing/decluttering paperwork 👏
ionafan, hopefully a quick task 🤞
Lovely post London_1 ☺️ Thanks for the recommendation about the British Library 👏 Very pleased to hear that you are fully recovered from your tummy bug ☺️ although a shame that you missed this week’s knit & natter 😔 Re the killer jigsaw, hopefully your DGD can help you finish it 😃
All caught up 🙂 I hope that everyone is managing to stay warm & dry on such a miserable day 🤞 Update on the cloakroom loo: it is not quite so blocked now as the water goes through quickly when flushing. Hopefully once the plunger is delivered we can sort it out properly. Mind you there is a silver lining as I am getting a bit of exercise by having to go upstairs 😅 See you later 👋

@weenancyinAmerica I've managed to nab a cheap ticket £13 for a day trip to London next month. I usually go twice a year if I can get a cheap train ticket - normally costs £70 - and despite previously living in London for nearly 20 years I'm always keen to visit a new place. So thank you for suggesting the Museum of Garden History, it looks interesting and something a bit different.
Also @London_1 it's spooky that you mentioned the British Library as I will be popping in to register for a Readers Pass and visiting the Treasures Gallery as well.

The angel card I picked out today said I should clear the clutter!

I did have decluttering on my to-do list today. I am going to go upstairs and look through my wardrobes in a minute as I have heavenly beings telling me to, lol. I will take the bag/s on Saturday as I'm going out to a class.17 -
Had a bit of a bad tum yesterday, slept in until noon, OH charmingly brought me chamomile tea to have in bed and when I finally go up asked what I'd like to have for breakfast or if he should just make me a proper cuppa. Didn't really fancy much so just had some more tea while I sat on the sofa watching dumb movies. He then cook dinner which was nice and I went to bed early on the off chance I'd get up in time to go to art group today - which I managed.
But.
The kitchen fairies haven't been and the place is a mess. I've not had more than a toasted bagel today and it looks like a bombshell went off in there. I don't mind doing a bit of tidying but I do wish he'd at least put things in the bin. I wonder if I should mention that the recycling goes out tonight or wait until 5:30 tomorrow morning when I hear the truck come for collection.
In fairness he did unblock the sink. Wonder if all the grease and coffee grounds that have been dumped in it have anything to do with the blockage? I'm finding that decluttering something different every day and only for a short time is helping me stay motivated. Today I rounded up all the house plants and decluttered a few that were very much past their best. Decluttered some dead leaves from them and vases of flowers that were well past their best. Also gone are some plant pot holders that were truly hideous (but kept nonetheless - just in case). Sad to see a couple of plants go that were beyond help but I have set up a hospital wing on the kitchen window sill for four of them that are on their last chance.17
