And done! Well at leas the jammy bits are. 😁
Both lots of currants got their hour of cooking and are now cooling before being put through jelly bags. All jars had a long time in the oven so will only need heating rather than warming tomorrow - they are staying in the sealed ovens.
The raspberry jam over ran by 5 minutes but I reckon that's still a good outcome for 5 minutes of electricity on one hotplate 😁😁Tomorrow, after the currants have had time to drip through I'll process them. But for now, I'm sitting down with another cup of coffee and having a break. 😁
Excuse the mess on the worksurface. I have practically no storage space that I want to use in the kitchen - it's all very old and occasionally mouldy. It will all be replaced before too long but for the moment most stuff lives on the surfaces.

Blue_Doggy - that is one of the charities that donations went to at the funeral. The other was Sobs.
Thank you to everyone for the kind words.
I went to Church this morning with my bestie - she brought a shepherd's pie when collecting me..
Granddaughter has been round - we got her a trolley from the garage - brought it in the house to empty. I gave her a set of crayons too.
My dancing grandson has arrived in Tokyo. He sent videos of the plush hotel he has been given. His words - " the toilet has a bum wash and a heated seat." He showed us what he thought were Japanese pyjamas - I think they are bathrobes. Room has a balcony overlooking the city.
My son sent me a video of the 4 chicks that have hatched and are now under a heat lamp. Six more eggs to hatch.

Sunday is a bright & sunny day with a temperature of 22°C when we left at 12:17 (IoD will be high 25° & low 17°C + W wind) A perfect day for motorcycling dry with decent temperatures in the low to mid 20’s & best of all no traffic holdups 🥳 We stopped at our usual OK Diner & had lunch - DH had a burger & fries whilst I had 2 fried eggs, 2 rashers of bacon & sautéed potatoes + 2 cappuccinos each. Then carried on to The Crown Hotel in Boroughbridge arriving 17:03. Unloaded the bike, then a long walk to reception, checked in, booked a time for breakfast & confirmed our dinner reservation. Then a long walk & a couple of flights of stairs to our room. We are just having a cup of coffee & a wee rest before washing & changing for dinner. Time to try & catch up with the cheerleading 🤞
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, hope you had a great time visiting DD2 ☺️ Excellent decluttering of books especially as you sold them 👏 Lentil & pepper soup sounds delicious 😋
Brilliant work clearing so many frogs TC77 👏
Well done tackling the work admin EnergyShifter 👏 & very pleased to hear that there was less outstanding than you feared 😊 + the added bonus of decluttering some notebooks 👏 Good work in the garden 👏
vulpix, how annoying that the bunk beds didn’t get built 😖 Hopefully you will have enough paint for full coverage that you are satisfied with 🤞Excellent work in the garden & well done to you, MrV & stepson especially re the Tip runs 👏 Great work rehoming plants & wishing you success in rehoming even more potted plants ☺️ Also well done on completing the baby blankets 👏
suzeesu2000, great news that 3 of your listings have already sold 🥳 Here’s hoping the rest sell just as quickly 🤞You never know you might create enough space in the freezer to have a few minutes inside cooling down 😉😉
QueenJess, I bought myself a really nice recipe book many years ago with the intention of transcribing all my favourite recipes but never quite got around to using it 😞 A couple of years ago I finally accepted that I was never going to use it so bit the bullet & donated it. Guess what, I haven’t missed it 🙊 How “kind” of your mum to donate ingredients 🤨 good luck finding ways to incorporate them into your menu plan 🍀
Wednesday2000, excellent work filling up two bags for CS 👏 Hopefully my DSis will enjoy the cooler weather & manage to sleep better 🤞
Will stop here & get ready for dinner. Hope everyone has had as good a day as possible 😊 See you later 👋

A few more bits gone today, mostly due to me finally getting around to replacing a few items that have been annoying me for a long time.
I asked DS and have been told I can't declare his totals yet because he is still planning on getting rid of some more things. My parents came today and I hadn't told them he has been doing any decluttering and my dad volunteered that DS's room looked tidier than he'd ever seen it. DS was pleased as my dad doesn't notice anything like that ever, so it must be different if he both noticed and volunteered the comment.

Use it up total 739I need to declutter some of my to do list next week, but I want to limit myself to 3 things a day max (preferably only 2) as I want to have more relaxed days. Back down to using things up and some more tricky decluttering bits so I will just aim for 1 item to declutter a day and see how it goes.

A friend from church kindly offered to do a tip run with me on Tuesday - I am so delighted as I expected to have the wood from the playhouse hanging around for months. So this afternoon was spent dragging all the wood I want take out from the places I'd stored it which took some time. I then realised I needed to plant the shrub I bought yesterday and the digging took quite a while for various reasons but it's in the ground now. The garden looks like a building site!
I'm going to meet a friend for coffee tomorrow morning but once I am home I will be back to work in the garden trying to get it in a reasonable state as I can see that there is a chance of rain on Tuesday and Weds which will interfere with my gardening streak!
Wishing everyone a good week x

Mrs SD i hadn't realised you're off on travels again and still cheerleading! Hope all goes well.
@dND thank you, wow that's amazing cooking and preserving....
Preparing an old phone as a back up for holidays and found so many photos of the house with furniture that has now gone and items either given away or sold. Entire dining room furniture replaced with my dad's but I like it more and so much of my collections gone ! Must be thousands over the years. This came after yesterday realising I should be booking my seat on the journey for the next few years!
Deleted Several hundred photos ( or one version of them ) and vintage suitcase picked up by a young man having an old fashioned themed wedding. Great to have it out the way..some emails out but totals not gone down
Counting as 15?

I spoke with my son today - he was okay.
Tonight I got a message from him that he was struggling and doesn't know how he will carry on without his son.
I realised that because I lost my Mr F - I am better equipped at helping him in his grief process.
My head teacher daughter who is away on holiday said that it would be a good idea for me to go back up to Nottingham in September rather than October. I have usually visited in school holidays as he is a teacher. Of course I will go back up sooner.
I think that everyone in the family is saying why did this happen and there will be no answers.

Sunday continued: DH & I bought drinks from the bar & sat outside - a tad chilly at 19°C but dry. Went in to dinner @ 19 :20 & whilst we were at dinner it rained for about 90 minutes. DH had a starter of beetroot cured stream trout parfait with smoked trout, beetroot, tomato, lettuce & radish, followed by steak & ale pie with chips & vegetables & finished with a dark chocolate mousse with honeycomb, chocolate soil & coconut sorbet. I had a very, very good Classic Caesars Salad 😋 DH had a 2nd pint whilst I had a bottle of fizzy water 😉 Still raining at 21:00 when I went out to have a cigarette. We were back in our room by 21:10. Apologies for not doing the cheerleading as I made the mistake of turning on the TV & watching the first 3 episodes of Vigil, season 1.
I will wish you all a good night. Sleep tight 😴

Hi all, hope you're all enjoying the slightly cooler weather. I must say it has helped me cope in the conservatory clear out as it doesn't get quite so hot. Mixed couple of days, I have nearly taken the couch apart. 1 bolt is resisting and I will need to work out something to tackle that today. I had to clear a space for the bits to go to on the landing and the cushions will be put in the room of doom. I have investigated cleaning the cushions. I thought they were a solid filling but they are full of tiny bits of sponge stuff so I will just give them a good hoover for now and might end up making new cushions but it's not a priority right now.
Meanwhile I have booked a blood test, sorted out some Christmas decorations, lots binned and also found some wrapping ribbons and bows that have been put in a box with the stash of gift tags, again lots binned. The bedroom bin and recycling were emptied and the lr bin emptied. The bathrooms have been deep cleaned and another bathroom overstock uu. A broken draw unit has been binned, some dead flowers and a dead wreath have been put in the garden waste bin. I did a session of ironing but I need to do more 😁. Also I have decluttered a bit of tooth so another visit to the dentist is on the cards 😑.
@Florenceem big hugs. I have experience of what you are feeling and I don't think anyone can understand why unless you have been in that very sad place where someone feels it is easier to end everything than keep living. It is devastating for the family who are left but so very, very sad for the person who has gone.
Today I am chauffeuring OH to the hospital so not sure what else will be done.
Hugs to everyone who would like one.
2010/2026
Take care everyone

Monday - it has rained on & off all night so we have woken (after a restless night) to a very damp day, although the forecast is for no more rain but a lowish temperature of 20°C not changing much through the day. Our destination is Kirton in Lindsey where it should be dry until after we arrive 🤞 We were up & dressed before 08:20 & are heading down to breakfast now (08:45) DH had a pot of coffee & I braved a pot of tea & very nice it was too 😊 we both had the full English breakfast - sausage, bacon, eggs, fried tomato, baked beans, mushroom & black pudding. I also had a slice of toast & marmalade.
We are just packing up the last of our bits & whilst DH is loading the bike I will pay for dinner & drinks.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible ☺️ See you later 👋
