Welcome back and so glad you're better. OH had an episode a number of years back which would have meant an ambulance ride but was caught by our doctor just in time. Very scary.

@Brie many thanks, it is very scary I was out cold for a week and then the rollercoaster ride began
I’ve already lost a leg to sepsis and they weren’t sure whether the other needed amputating, so far I still have it but everything being monitored closely as a couple of other things were picked up by the scans. Just glad to be home although everything being monitored time I start to watch a programme I fall fast asleep.
Have a lot more charity items to go but being only April I have plenty of time and for the life of me I had decluttered other items but I can’t remember, the brain has gone into protective mode as I wasn’t starting to suffer anxiety from all the black spaces.Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Happy_Kitties - welcome back. Sorry to hear you have been so poorly. Please take care of yourself.
2 of my daughters phoned on their way home from school. One said - what will you put in the craft storage room - as I must not have a lot of stuff left! That is a joke!
I have so much craft stuff - been giving lots to daughter and granddaughter's schools and to my bestie's charity shop. I have lots still to go through as I sort out what to go in the craft storage room and the craft room.
At the moment the old office is full of craft stuff and there is lots in the garage too. There is also stuff in the large ROD.

@TC77 , one of the phrases I've picked up from the Pensions board is "to retire to something, and not just from something". So I echo the comments of others about thinking about what you enjoy doing, and putting a structure in.
When my dad retired at 60, from teaching, he did a planner for the first month or so which separated the weekdays into 2-hour segments, I think. After a month or so, it became half days, then just the usual calendar. This was to cushion him from the culture shock of being ruled by school bells for 55 of his 60 years, to absolutely nothing. In fact, though, our church was without a vicar at the time, and so dad became a governor at the associated primary school as the church representative.
Looking at what you've written about your work, it looks as though you should already have done enough years to get a full state pension, but have you double checked?

Mum has a key safe. If someone was really determined, with a crow bar, then they'd probably get into it. But it does offer peace of mind for an emergency or if she locks herself out. Hers is 1066 (as is her neighbour's!).
@oceanspirit good luck with the move. When you get that far, if the finances can stretch to it, I really would recommend getting your movers to pack you rather than doing it yourself.
@suzeesu2000 so sorry to hear about your eldest brother on top of your mum. I hope that the funeral tomorrow is a good celebration of your mum.
@Florenceem that is one impressive glove!
@Happy_Kitties what a shock for you. Hopefully your journey to recovery will be straightforward.
The local football club (York City) was involved in a very exciting final match of the season, and was successful in gaining promotion to the football league - there were 2 goals in extra time, 2 pitch invasions, and the game finished in a draw (which meant York won the league). Phew.
I intended to do things in the allotment and home at the weekend (getting the potatoes planted, seeds sown etc) but my foot plantar pain is quite bad, and I just couldn't get the motivation to get up. Hopefully soon.
I am slowly managing to work my way through (declutter) some of the items in the freezer. Fishcakes yesterday. Trout fillet (from 2023!!) today. Sausages and streaky bacon for a casserole tomorrow.
I will also need to do an online shop as I can't drive yet after fracturing my hand, and walking to local shops is too much of challenge for my foot. I have never done one before … !

Ooh that's lovely! I have an original 1935 bath, which was looking good for its age, but had a few limescale marks on it. While I was away over Easter, my friend who was staying, unexpectedly tackled the limescale on the bath and the taps. It doesn't look as shiny as yours, but it is much improved.

@suzeesu2000 - so sorry to learn of your losses. Thinking of you for tomorrow. I lost two brothers within 3 weeks of each other some years ago now. My mother was still alive but had dementia and I never told her but strangely she never mentioned them in remaining two years of her life - I'm sure she knew. @Happy_kitties - glad you are on the mend. Sepsis is terrifyingly fast to take hold.
Not done much today except visited hospital to collect hearing aid tubes and batteries - was there 18 mnutes (Audiology is up several floors) No free short time parking and it cost £3.40!!! I will try sending for them by email next time. Went to Mr S and bought a few bits for the week. Afternoon visit to a local small zoo - they home small animals including many that have been unwisely kept as pets originally. Last time I went there with a nursery group and there was torrential rain but lovely today. Still no joiner yet - he hoped to come today but didn't fit it in. I did plant out some seeds and potted some lettuce plants. Gardening club talk and covid jab tomorrow. Plus some urgent paperwork to finish.
