It's best to be suspicious of any mail ordered product and check it as soon as it arrives too, rather than waiting until Christmas day to find out there's a problem.

That is very true but I think we would’ve still had the same problem. At least it is sorted now and I have reached a few people with a warning. The more I’ve talked to various friends the more I hear of this sort of thing happening from high value items right down to make up!
Always use your credit card and I’m more inclined to go to an actual shop now.

To be fair to CEX, this sort of thing can’t be widespread, or nobody would buy anything from them mail order. Having said that, you are probably a lot safer with a low value item.
