I get it, @Baileys_Babe. Certain perfumes gave my mum migraines. Ditto my sister and myself. Not fun. Anyone remember Christian Dior’s
Poison? That’s my definite trigger.Oh @PipneyJane, I'm with everyone on the scenting of laundry - fresh air on the line is my favourite - but I love Poison (I still have a bottle tucked away), it's my second favourite perfume after Chanel No 5. 😁 Dxx

Hope you have a lovely time @thriftmonster. Old Trafford is one of my favourite places. I was lucky enough to stay at the hotel there before it was redeveloped, when it was still run by the cricket club. £35/night for a room overlooking the pitch. It was lovely. Such a privilege.
@PollyWollyDoodle I haven’t tried to get tickets for the Bayeux Tapestry. I hope you get lucky. I know they had problems with the website - I’m on the British Museum’s mailing list. I’ve been lucky enough to see it in Bayeux.

@dND I don’t think I’ve seen Poison on sale for years. Enjoy wearing it.

I found this on removing stains from linen. Newly woven Irish linen was spread out on grass to bleach naturally.
I put a minimum bid and for £5.44, won this boxed set of 2 Old Bleach, hand painted, Irish linen towels and a matching wash stand or tray cloth from the days before bathrooms and central heating, when most women had a jug of water and a bowl to wash in a chilly bedroom.
'Baths is unhygienic,' Granny declared. 'You know I've never agreed with baths. Sittin' around in your own dirt like that.''What do you do, then?' said Magrat.'I just washes,' said Granny. 'All the bits. You know. As and when they becomes available.'--Terry Pratchett,

The Bayeux Tapestry is the 7am headline on BBC Breakfast this morning. It arrived at the British Museum this morning. If you get a chance, watch the piece on iPlayer today. (They only keep Breakfast on iPlayer for a day.) Absolutely fascinating how they removed it from the museum in Bayeux.
@Nelliegrace Beautiful linens. I love that you quoted Sir Terry. I am a big fan and have read/re-read all the Discworld books many times. I have all the books in paperback, plus many on Kindle, and the original, Tony Robinson, recordings. My first book was “Equal Rites” and Granny Weatherwax is definitely a heroine of mine.

My daughter started reading Hogfather to me on a car journey, @PipneyJane They are laugh out loud books, and full of wit and wisdom.

Don’t you just hate yarn barf?
This is the THIRD knotted mass of yarn that I’ve hauled out of the middle of this skein since I started using the new skein on Wednesday. You know how you stick your fingers into the middle of the skein, grope around, pull out a few loose bits and find the end to knit from? Well, at the start, it took me a good 10 minutes to get anything out. It was a solid lump inside.
Arrgghhh….
Very true.

That's horrendous @PipneyJane . Do you want to name and shame (because it looks like WYS to me but I'm hoping I'm wrong)

Cricket was fab on Friday. Yorkshire ladies were totally dominant but equally Lancashire men. Actually at one point I said to my friend that I would have like to see Yorkshire ladies against Lancashire men 😁
