Re: smelly stuff. My daughter once went into her accountant's and started to have an asthma attack. We tracked the trigger down to one of those plug ins that puff some 'air freshener' out every few minutes! She was fine after some fresh air and an inhaler...

I agree wholeheartedly, the dishonest adverts for those horrible chemical smells should be banned, @PipneyJane. I dread finding the smell of Fabric spray when I unpack a purchase of vintage clothes.
The denim of the skirt is really thick, and it would never get done. I think I will let the hospice shop raise funds and someone else enjoy it.
We went to Trentham Gardens this afternoon. In the shopping village the Denby shop was having a closing down sale. DH bought a lovely, large, Heritage Accent teapot for £17.85. I shall put it away for the future. (He has dropped yet another of my vintage Denby teapot lids!) They had the base alone at £3.50.

@PipneyJane , have a great time tomorrow and don't forget to give us a wave if you see a camera. I'm very jealous, hasn't it been a fantastic tournament? Having watched the football, rugby and cricket, there seems to be a lot more joy in the sport in the women's game, probably something to do with the squillions of pounds they don't get, (cynical? Moi?) Also it's great to see so many young people at the games, great for youngsters to have the likes of Lauren Bell and Ellie Kildunne to look up to. Although England have had an excellent tournament, Australia seem unbeatable , should be a great match, assume you're supporting the Aussies. As OH always told the grandsons if they played well, then cricket is the winner, it's become a bit of a catchphrase between them.

It was a really good match @Nonnadiluca. Australia won (yay!). England didn’t take advantage of their 6 overs of Powerplay (where only two players can field outside the circle), while the Aussies hit multiple fours and sixes during theirs.
Sadly, we were on the top level of the Compton stand, so no cameras anywhere near us, or I would have waved. It was also far too hot to knit. < pout > No shade anywhere near us. At one point, I had to concede and went and stood on the concourse for a bit. (I got far too hot, sitting in the sun.)
I love the story about your OH and your grandsons. They’ll appreciate these two signs that were outside Lords, in multiple places:

That looks great @PipneyJane .I'm off tho see the War of the Roses on Friday at Old Trafford. I'm really pleased the ticket is for both the women's (3pm) and the men's (7pm) T20. Despite living in Yorkshire now, in cricket I'm true to the county of my birth 🌹🌹🌹

@PipneyJane it was indeed a great match and cricket really was the winner!

Glad you enjoyed the cricket (and love those signs!)
Has anyone managed to get tickets for the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition? I was at my volunteer job on the day they came on sale, so couldn’t get online but I’ve heard dire tales of people holding on for hours only to be booted out of the queue. I believe they’re releasing some more later in the year and I might try then.

My sister was in the online queue for ages with no success. I'm glad I saw it in Bayeux in 2024

Another lot of coupons spent - that brings me to 12 spent this year, every single one of them on socks (unless they count towards my nylons allowance, but as I don't wear nylons, perhaps not. The latest three pairs are tiny trainer socks, the sort that are more or less shoe liners, but I suppose that's a case of clever design and research into fabrics, so there is definitely a bonus factor, hence coupons.
I continue to spend on second hand: I've just discovered a range of shoes that fit and are comfortable so I've ordered a black pair off V1nted, as they will go with everything.
