That sounds like a lovely outfit, Pip- and hat to match (on occasion!). How nice that you and your friend have that link…
I have spent the last few weeks teaching two new-knitter friends to knit boot-socks in DK, so I am wearing my own pair (made from yarn I've had for years) which I knitted to demonstrate and take photos for them. I am pleased with them and encouraged to get on with a new project: I want to knit a short-sleeved cardigan in light yellow, with the WYS Elements that I got aw a birthday present. I want to use the textured yoke of 'Ranunculus' but definitely not the overall shape of it which is somewhat odd to me- for my 17" upper arms, the size I would have to knit has a 63" chest, which I don't- it's meant to be all drapey and falling off one shoulder oversized, which works if you're a sylph in her early twenties but not if you're me! :)
So I plan to use the decorative textured section but with my own pattern that worked well last spring for my green&cream striped cardigan in DK.2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I have spent today learning how to make a proggy rug which will be useful to make do and mend with any scraps of fabric. I'm making a rug for the kitchen floor

I'm loving it. My great grandmother made a proggy rug out of my grandfather's WW1 uniform so maybe it's genetic😂😂

Ooohhhh! Lovely @thriftmonster! Please post a photo when you are done.
I have the vague memory of doing a proggy course at N&S show years ago. It was fun. Have the widget somewhere. What are you doing re sizing the strips?

We used a little wooden size gauge. Although you get to judge the width by eye it's very useful for getting them all the same length.

I asked my nephew if he would like some handkerchiefs for his birthday, and I found these from the British Red Cross charity. The 365 ones were made by the William Pickles Group and the Excelda ones by Messrs. Dawson, Halliweh and Co., both in Manchester. I got them all for £11.51. The patterned ones may have old sticky tape marks which are a nuisance to remove.

Sticky stuff remover, alcohol, petroleum jelly, eucalyptus oil (good for beach oil,) detergent. I have tried various things. Some work but not always.
The other resistant stain is from rusty pins.

Sometimes baby oil works on sticky marks, and I've heard WD40 can remove them as well. Depends on what the sticky is, and of course you can't tell by looking at it.
Very smart handkerchiefs, @Nelliegrace . I like that Excelda packaging.
