I was wondering if someone might be able to help? I am really disappointed with Amazon - today when looking on my account I am realised that they been charging me monthly for nearly 2 years for Amazon Kindle unlimited - I did not even realised I was signed up to this as have never used this service- I think originally I must have accidentally signed up to a free trail which I never even used. I think these companies should be informing customers each month they charge with an email- but I did not get any notification. I have contacted Amazon and the most they said this can refund me is 6 months. Do you think I might be able to get any refund from my credit card company? Do you think this is something else I could do?
Thanks for your help

No, you absolutely cannot get a refund from your credit card company. The something else is to keep an eye on your bank/card statements, unfortunately you signed up for this service, so it is on you.pinkmoney said:I was wondering if someone might be able to help? Why are you disappointed that Amazon have provided you with 6 months of service for free? They didn't have to give you a penny.0

Bite Amazon's hand off before they change their mind.4

As above, take the refund offered and as you do not seem to be checking your credit card statements with sufficient scrutiny make a resolution to so so from now on.3

Take the offer - and take the lesson that you should look at your bank and credit card statements every month to ensure there's nothing being paid for that you don't want to pay for. You mention about a monthly email - most people get monthly or even quarterly bank statements - that's the thing to check - not emails.3 -
Max FCA say would be 13 months. But unless you have something to prove you have cancelled, then you won't get anything out of CC.pinkmoney said:I was wondering if someone might be able to help? Take the 6 months & remember in future to monitor your accounts for any unexpected payments.Life in the slow lane0 -
I’d hate if companies emailed me every month to tell me they’re taking a payment - I’d get an endless stream of them! It’s on you to keep an eye on stuff like this I’m afraid.0

You’re disappointed with Amazon? did I read that right?I’m sorry but this is ludicrous. You need to be checking your statements. Not checking for 2 years is negligence. Why on earth that your credit card company refund you?The fact that Amazon are willing to refund you 6 months is fantastic service.0
